sounds like it is going to be an awesome tank. I agree with your thinking on your measurements. I have a 30 inch deep tank and it can be a pain. My last tank was 280 gallons but it was only 24" deep and I loved it. Rarely ever did I notice my fish swimming up and down so I dont think that it would affect them too much. Good luck with the build.
