I have tried Tunze, Brightwell NeoMarine, IO and Aquavitro Salinity and by far the best is the Aquavitro. Pay attention to the mixing livels at different temperatures though. Off the top of my head I think the numbers call for 1.024 SG for the proper temp ranges and proper specs. You'll love that stuff though. My tanks have never looked better than when I started using that stuff and you sure can't beat the price for volume...if you can carry the 225g bucket of salt haha.

hahahahah it is heavy!!!!

Well I mixed mine to approximately 1.026 :) and like you said, I feel for the price and getting 225 gallons from 1 bucket plus the higher levels of calcium and what not, its hard to beat! It also mixed very cleanly, no leftover residue

Mark,

When you get back in town, come on by..I have close to 10lbs for you..free of pests, aptasia, etc....no charge..

Kirk

Awesome thanks Kirk! In Beijing now and then to Tokyo. My weekend goal is to find aquarium stores in Tokyo! I figured since I can't get water in my tank I might as well get a 'fix' while travelling and killing time in Asia.

I mixed the salt in the return portion of my sump

Looking forward to seeing your new tank, Jeff! Post some more pics to make me jealous. I really thought I was going to get water in before you until last week! Hopefully, sump is done when I return on Thursday!

I'll try to get some pics posted by this weekend as I am going to be building my light rack and will have the LED's installed! :D

I have seen the Light!!

Light rack is all built, I still have to paint it, but I couldnt stand not seeing what my tank looks like with my Pacific Sun LEDS! These are killer!!!!!!

Sorry for the pictures, I need to figure out my custom white balance.

All of the pictures were taken at 100% Power

WOO HOO nice jeff that looks awesome! those lights are nice i wish i could
have gotten some to start but maybe next tax season :D

Congrats !!!!

Jeff,

Nice pics..esp of the 13K....would like to see in person though...

do you know who the "players" of the LED lights are? I assume Pacific Sun is one?

yes Pacific Sun is one, there is also AI, Maxspect and a few others. Each one has their own offerings. Depending on what you want out of your lighting, there is something there for everyone.

I personally wanted control and customization all in one unit. That is why I chose the Pacifi Sun LED's.

Jeff,

will do, but would like to wait until you get a coral or two in there...would like to see the color of corals under LEDs....

Hey Jeff, LED's look great but you didn't show us your handywork on the the light rack. I like the look of the 15K pic (similar to what I have color-wise)

Todd

Right now I just have the rack sitting ontop of the tank. My plan is to suspend the rack using Sunlift Yo-Yo's which will allow me to raise or lower the light rack as needed.

DUDE! Why did I not know about those before?! Those are pretty neat doohickeybobthingys. I might have to get a set of those as well!
