Electric Flame Scallops

Has anyone had luck with these guys? I would love to get one but I have heard many complaining that these are tough to keep alive, and many have had them live for max of 1/2 year.

I was gonna try feeding it a mixture of marine snow/oyster eggs, if I were to purchase one.

Ah, thanks for the link. Will not be purchasing 20 dollar clams that require phyto and zoo plankton feedings. Too much time/money investment on something that will just be fancy hermit feast later on.

I have heard mixed things, but I do know Shark Reef in Silverdale had some a couple of weeks ago. We already have to spot feed everyday, so they wouldnt be that big of a deal for us.

Beyond the feeding issues, they will try to hide in your rocks from you and you'll never see the "electric" flashes.

When I worked at a LFS in highschool we had one live 1 1/2 years which is the longest I have heard about. These are still one of my favorite creatures and someday I hope to give it a try. I don't think anyone should get one unless they are prepared to work really hard at keeping it alive and well.
