Sand bed critters are starting to multiply. Nitrogen gas bubbles visible...worm trails visible. Notice I placed a pair of orange skunk clowns and a pair of GSM clowns in this tank. Will not add any other fish in there. Do not attempt to place another clown pair with maroons ..... This is the first that I have seen where each pair are not fighting.

Elmo is this the Cap that you fragged out? I can't wait until mine gets that pretty. Your tank is looking good.

Well the cap is the same species, but your frag from me came from a colony 3 times bigger...than the one i have now. The one in this new tank is a frag of that as well.

Here is the whole piece i broke up late summer; its on the bottom right side.

The big one in this new tank is actually in the above photo. Its to the RIGHT of the RBTA on the right side of the tank. You can make out its curve.
This particular piece grows fast.

Oh yeah that's what I am talking about about. I can't wait until my 150g is up and running to give this puppy room to grow. Thanks for the pics.

Hey Elmo! The thank is looking great! That little frag that I gave you is looking good, has grown a lot. Do you still have a nana frag? I didn't see it in there. If something happened just let me know and I will hook you up with another. Nice tank! I need to make one of those for my house now.

T

Hi Tom. The Nana turned brown and bleached out under my VHO lighting a bit ago. I saved a piece and gladly let coral beauty to grow out to see if the color will come back, knowing that it will not do well until i get the MH (which I do have now).

If you come up this way, let me know ;) I'll have another shot at a purple tip nana.

Cool Elmo, It may have just been bad luck. I grew those nana's from tiny frags for a year under vho, and they grew exponentially. Here is a pic of it grown only under vho. I will be back in Feb and will hook up with you at a meeting or something

How are the red bugs going on Elmo.... can you take a pic of the individual corals you have there in your tank... I know that you game some stuff before... just want to compare...

thanks

My one setback for the time being, is yup, red bugs.

I have found red bugs on only one acropora so far. It is on a tricolour frag of a species I do not fully know. Since I have found them, I have looked at all my acroporas and do not see any. However, it seems that they do not inhabit the more polyped out corals, such as the A. millepora, A. yongei, A. chesterfieldensis, etc.

So far only on this frag. Frag was received as a trade on October 25-31st, can't remember exact date, and was a freshcut. I superglued it to rubble, and here are some time shots.

Growth of about 3 weeks. Notice the numerous red bugs on the latter photo. Frag has encrusted on the rubble, and has colored up as well. I will keep an eye out on this one and see what effects over time.

And if it still can't be seen, here's the blown out photo:

I'm sorry as it is a rather larger file..

Nice Elmo. That is some really awesome growth. Thanks for the photo of the acro bugs as well. I have never really seen them up close like that. Just a all around good looking tank. Steve

Beautiful!!! Now that is a tank that steals my heart. Also gives people a clear picture of why it is hard to have roses and corals in the same tank. Thanks for posting the picture.
