RF,

We received a call from a guy named James in New York. He want to chat us up about reef tanks, and some of the custom pieces that he has seen all over the forums. We love to talk about tanks! We discussed the industry, and the lack of professionalism, and the difference in a tank and a great tank. We must of said something right, cause he wanted CFI/worldclassaquariums.com to build his next system!
We talked size first. I tried to steer him into a 72x30x30, but ended up being a little too wide for the space. We will be building him a 72x26x26, steel stand that is 38" tall, a custom sump, Cherry face frames and a Clam Shell canopy. This system will be pre plumbed, and will be as plug and play as possible. There will be 4-Gen 3 Echotech Radions for light, and Apex controlling everything, a Tunze Osmolator, Vertex Skimmer, Red Dragon Pump, and some other secrete goodies.
I will share some pic's, cause I know you all too well, "Pic's or it didn't happen!"
Here is the first part of the build, the steel stand. All 2x2x 3/16" wall tubing. I have it sand blasted to clean off all the mill scale and oil, so I can work as clean as I can.
We did miters on the top and bottom, instead of slugging the tubes. Like to try different things time to time.

All ground down, and sharp edges taken off.

Nice inside miter weld.

5 of the legs have steel tubes called "through holes" welded in to mount the Cherry face frames later.

Picture of the inside of the steel square tube with the 3/8 ID round tube.

Front of stand

The small horizontal 1" square tubes will be for mounting White Starboard, for a back board. Electrical, plumbing, and other cool stuff!

Keep an eye on this build, we have a bunch of cool details up our sleeves!

It will be gloss black powder coated. I also do a polymer coat for stands that will not be seen. It is saltwater proof, where powder coating is only marginally better than paint. Jason

Ok guys, got a few pic's today. Check them out! J

Full Tank shot. Holly snikies, look at that single porthole on that six foot tank! The body and top are all .750" thick premium cell cast acrylic. We make it happen!

This is a Right hand overflow box, going to house some serious sch 80 plumbing!

We went with 2 OFB access ports, and left the back corner for an electrical chase.

This is a black panel for the Refugium chamber in the sump. All my OFB teeth are cut this way, aluminum templates.

Rf,

We are charging hard on the sump for this bad boy. I just bonded the last of the joints of the body.

The very bottom is the 3 chamber dosing containers, next up is the dual filter socks, then the refugium, then the skimmer chamber, then the pump chamber, then an ATO chamber. The view is of the bottom of the sump. I'll get mo better pic's as it gets finished up. Lots a work left on this one. It measures 66x21x20 and has 1" clearance all around it while sitting inside the steel stand.
