nice so the T worked. looks good man. Hows the return pump working?

I saw in a mag that the outlet was 1/2" not 3/4" like we had thought

Have you tested the 20gal to see if it will hold enough water?

pump works great. nice and slow like we talked about. im pretty sure that the 20 will work cause it only drops like 2" from the dt. i want to put an swing valve on the return line then it will only drop about 1/2". ill try it out for you tommarow.

Man you are really doing a job. This is the best tank build start I think I’ve seen yet. It seems like all the best simple designs and ideas on the site are all pouring into this build and its all coming together just great. I am just impressed with everyone on this one. This is what its about on Reef Frontiers. Keep it coming!

I need to finish the 20l and put the baffles in. I also order a swing valve for the return. so when that comes in I will add the other sump. but this is what the overall tank and plumbing should look like. I will take more pics when the whole system is done. Thank you eveyone who helped and those who were keeping along.

That has got to be the cleanest, simplest, straight forward set up I have ever seen. You know its going to work, and work trouble free. Talk about your KISS principle. Next one I do is going to be just like that.

i don't like threaded pvc stuff any more. it keeps on leaking. F that stuff. Now i have to redo the bulk heads or maybe not. idk. will c.

teflon tape will help withe threaded stuff and use some big channel locks to get the stuff nice and tight and try a very small bead of silicone around the bulkheads before and after the rubber gasket on the inside of the glass. very small bead.

The silicone trick works great. I only use the silicone and never had one leak. It also acts as a lubricant when your tightening them so you dont have to get out the big wrenches.

i got the leaks taken care of and one 20lbs bag of black sand in the tank. I only wanted enough sand to cover the bottom. next is the aquascaping. i have some acrylic rods to help form the rock wall and overhangs.
