Hi everyone,
I just ordered my sequence hammerhead to replace my ampmaster 3000:) It is more flow which is always good and it has the better seal. My current plumbing is a 1.5" drain with a 8 way manifold with only 6 of the open. The manifold heads are 3/4 " , so I was wondering will I need to add more drains and add more outputs or can I run the same system? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Here's a bump...

I don't have experience with the Hammerhead, however, with my Amp 3000 I have 2, 1-1/2" drains, which really helps in breakting up the draw if there was only one intake. I also have 3/4" outputs, with only 4 going at a time (8 total). Don't know if this helps??

Thanks nikki,
I just got my hammerhead today and I am on my way to the plumbing store as soon as I am done typing. I may add another drain in the future and I may add two more out puts to blow directly from behind the rocks. It will be interesting to see how much more pressure this pump has then my ampmaster 3000. Thanks

Chris

How much difference is it in GPH?
I'd guess you can open all 8 I'd hook it up and see with what you already have & go from there. I'd think also another drain may be needed, you don't want to pressure the pump any more than necessary.

I may need to temporarily drain my tank to add another drain. would you use a T to join the two drains? Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hey Scooterman,
The hammerhead is going to be used as a closed loop, I forgot to answer the last part of your question about the GPH difference. The Ampmaster 3000 runs at 3000 GPH at 0 feet of head and the hammerhead runs at 5400 gph at 0 feet of head. Thanks

Chris

Yea you will need about 3" of drain or suction return to your pump, I'd tee them together, also you probably can use all 8 outlets.

Exciting chris.

Let us know how it changes the flow, that is a big diff in GPH.

Hammerhead flow

Wow:shock: what a difference! My tank is now like a whirlpool, I am thinking about taking off the downsized locline pieces I put on my swirls and leaving them at their one inch size. I had to shut it down because I had a little leak that I will fix tomorrow. If you need a pump for a high flow closed loop system this is one to check out.:)

Clownguy,

How's the noise on it? Thx.

The noise isn't horrible, but let's just say I am glad it is in the garage.
