It could be many types of a BOX. This one is for jewelery.

I wanted a simple design. Nothing fancy in shape. But it also had to stand out . What better way to do that than add color.
The main body is Bloodwood, the door and side panels are Yellow Heart. Both woods are very hard and dense.
The drawer fronts are Quilted Maple, with ebony pulls. The top is a 4-way book match Maple Burl.

Some of you DIYers will enjoy this. Others will think it is pretty. Some wont get past the first couple of picks.
This is one of many boxes I have made, and intend to sell in the future. Most of them just set idle undercover in a safe place.

As most of you know. For me its all about the design and build. It is satisfying to see the many hours spent on a box like this, turn out as planned. Beautiful and functional.

Enjoy..

What??? Is this something you whipped up last weekend Dave since you didn't have to work on Mojo's tank??? :D

All kidding aside buddy, absolutely fantastic. You never cease to amaze. I would post pics of Gavin's crib/daybed alteration you did but it would pale in comparison. I hope you have one heck of a fire suppression system in your house as it would be a loss to humanity to lose these woodworking treasures.

Jrgilles, and Mojo. Thank you, Thank you very much!!

Eric, I whipped this baby up in a mere 3 mos. No sprinkler heads in the house. I do have a Maxijet 1200 I could use to pump tank water to the flame if I had to. LOL

I suppose the bed remodel is a bit mundane compared to this box. But it still has my own design incorporated into it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Becca would like to say "enough about all the wood... Who is HER?"

All depends on who buys the box. I am pretty sure it wont be for a man. Who ever gives this to his special someone will receive boo-koo Koodos...
Nellie dosent like it as much as another box I built. She always has the choice to use it or store it.

Friggin' Awesome Peppie, you are truely an inspiratation to all us woodworkers here and always a pleasure to see what you have dreamed up an actually created. I am so looking forward to eventually getting my shop back in order so I too can create something beautiful, though definitely not to your level. When you can come up for the pump I also have some very nice decorative hardware that would make the cut for some of your creations.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks for the pat on the back Todd.
Each of us have our own area of expertise, mine just happens to be working wood.
I am looking forward to seeing the hardware you have to offer.
How soon in the future is your shop going to be up and running? I assume it will be before THE BIG BUILD.

Looks great. My hands cant do neanderthal work anymore. Here is a quick two day project. Just needs some finish on top. 15 more to go.

Thanks Don,
That is a nice inn table. Is it cherry? Hard to tell in the pic. The long foot on the legs make the piece.

Each one is 41bf of honduran mahogany.

Something aint right here 41 board foot of HM. I have been on a African ribbon Mah. lately nice wood and just under $5.25 Per BF. Cant beat the price. Almost cheaper than pine at Home Depot. LOL

:) Each table takes 41 BF 2 8/4 13"x 10' slabs ea. Customers that specifically ask for Mahogany get it. African is not Mahogany, part of the reason its so inexpensive. 8/4 wide slabs are not that bad usually about $12.50 a bf.

Lots of unused lumber in that table.
I could give a rats butt if the A mahogany is true mah. or not. It works good, beautiful grain and color. and cheap.
