HQI Pendants: ReefOptix III or PFO?

I'm looking for the best choice for HQI Pendants that are under 5" high will be going into a 10" canopy. I've had to rule out the Lumenarcs III for this reason at 8.5".

1. A couple HQI Pendants come to mind, any others to consider?

2. HQI Ballast, Is the ARO better than IceCap 250w HQI?
I prefer not to go with Magnetic M80 due power consumption.

3. Will a Neptune AC3 controller control ARO Electronic ballast?

I have had excellent luck with Reef Optix 3 with icecap electronic ballasts for 250W HQI. The PFO pendents however are considably larger. I some of those but they are 400s. Big disadvance since only one company makes bulbs for the double end version.

Depends on whats more important to you.....

The PFO's ae reputed to give a slightly better spread of light pattern, whereas the ROIII's reflect more light than the PFO's according to Sanjay Joshi.
