I hate "that" forum

I think we all know what I'm referring to. Its the "central" forum.

I could go on and on ranting about their ridiculous staff or their pathetic rules, but seriously I can't stand it anymore. I have to admit there is some damn good info there. Most members there are great people. Some build threads are absolutely incredible. Plus the community is so large, Its hard not to love such a massive data base.

But every month or so I am reminded how twisted the staff are. They abuse there power, and then even announce it publicly.

So Im going to change my browser home page to a forum more welcoming.

I visit that site on a regular basis, only one forum. The DIY
They can be brutal over there.
I much rather spend my time here. As you stated a vast amount of info there.

This site ,RF, is by far the best on the board. I have visited many.

Well, I'm sure you will love it here! Very friendly members and very peaceful community compared to any other forum I've been on. We really don't even allow bashing other forums on here even if they suck so I'm glad you didn't go too far into details :lol:

Its nice to cross refernce info from different areas, but I have found I get all I need here and more people are willing to give detailed info instead of just "IMO" one liners...most of the time.

I feel like I gained two things since finally taking the plunge from years of freshwater to reefkeeping. An amazing very rewarding hobby that freshwater can't offer, and real cool like-minded people that are far more stimulating and I would have to say freindlier (if thats a word) and generous. I love that I can offer things I am not using to others at a low cost...if not free, and see that it all comes back in the end with other doing the same.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO TEAM! lol.

there are some great people on here. back in 2007 this Forum was very active and I spent a lot less time on RC. Rf is slower now but there are some great archives. I just shared one from 2004 about reef Lighting that mojo started yesterday to the San diego Forum.

My Local San Diego Forum is ok but mostly selling and not much info. Plus a ton of people who give bad advice because that is whas there LFS told them. LOl.

I to think that this is the best 'Reefkeeping Forum' around and left the other 2+ years ago and have not ventured back. We have a very open-minded, knowledgable, experienced and willing to share group of members/mods that I am proud and honored to be part of. The changes to the site last year did slow the roll a bit but think it was for the better (removing selling/buying from open forum and creating a 'Classifieds' section). We do as Krish stated above have some rules that forbid Forum Bashing so lets keep this thread positive in a way that says 'why we like it here' versus there in only stating the likes of our site. This could be a place to state some things we'd like to see here as well.

This is by far the friendliest forum I have found, but also maintains a good balance of knowlegable staff and members. Lots of great info and even a few experts who love to have their brains picked. We also have tons of great sponsors with just about anything you could want or need in the hobby, and a ton of good people who believe in helping each other. I very rarely venture other places except a few smaller local club sites just to keep in touch with my local area. Wise choice coming here, and I am sure you will want to stick around.
