Ice Cap fan

Hey I have a couple icecap fans to mount in the hood. No mounting instructions came with of course.The fan sticker says 4" but the inside diameter is almost 4 1/2". Can I get away with a 4" dia hole or should I go actual diameter? Just wondering if the smaller hole will add noise or shorten fan life.

What is the actual blade diameter? That is more what would be restricted..

Looks like about 4 3/8" blade dia Josh..........Just trying to save myself a trip for a slightly bigger hole saw.

Hmm... Think you could sand the extra down? maybe with a rotary tool or something like that.
