Hey All, does anyone in the northend have a Iodine test kit I could borrow for a test ot two. I read a thread in wetwebmedia that Chaeto & Caulerpa remove and store alot of Iodine from the water and since I have quite alot of it would like to know just where my levels are. I have done a little extra dosing with Lugol's Sollution as well as dabbing directly onto some RTN in a Milli colony and have noticed that my zoas & sps have reacted positively with better polyp extension. But don't like the idea of dosing without knowing existing levels.
I would be happy to donate a frag of something for the use of your kit.

Todd,

??? How can you remove and store at the same time..

Please explain what you mean by this as I want to know more...

The article stated that Chaeto, Caulerpa and many macro algaes absorb fairly high amounts of Iodine and store/retain it in there tissue possibly as a way of making themsevles less edible. If I can find the article again I'll post the link. My concern/interest is that my Fuge to DT ratio is quite a bit more than most systems and would like to know if I'm actually over fuged. Or do I just need to supplement Iodine.
