As you may know I broke down and sold my 70g cube and downsized it to a 29 gallon tank. As of right now this is my system although i have a 18x18x12'' coming in the mail which i still may try and sell new, since im looking for something star-fire around 24x24x16.

I just finished the led's tonight they are x4 Cree3w Royal Blue, x2 Cree3w Red, x4 Cree3w Green and X4 3w Uv Purple on one 1.5''x18'' heatsink. I had trouble with the dimmable system so i am running a constant 700ma driver instead. Am just using my mp10 for flow and have no filtration as of yet. As for the skimmer I should be picking up a eshopps 75 hang on this weekend. After the skimmer and maybe one more blue only led string im leaving the 29 as is until i find a better display.

Thanks a lot. I am planning on this tank being temporary, hopefully..

Added all but two larger uv optics which are in the mail. I also ordered 14 royal blue xt's to go on another 18'' heatsink but with a 1050ma driver instead of the multicolor string running at 700ma.

Sorry for quality need to borrow a friends dslr for better photos.

Now running two x14 cree 3w led strings with a 3rd coming. One all royal blue. Pics taken with the rainbow string only because the blue over powers photos. Also just got the okay for the Starfire cube build above!

Im really excited and have great confidence in the results! Unfortunately this project can only go as fast as my budget will allow and the display will be sitting for a period of up to 60 days.. Im going to have a quality dark stained stand built for it. Also should be picking up a new led fixture within the month! This is going to be a true photography opportunity tank and will be my final aquarium until I can own a home and go with something in the realm of 72x30x20 rimless. This tank is a perfect size for my needs which is to be able to relocate it if necessary with just a few hours work.

Heres a cell phone teaser. I'm borrowing a nice camera soon! It's a custom all in one 24x24x16 low iron rimless cube built to my specifications all the way (much appreciated). The tank was built by Oceans By Design LLC soon to open in the coming months!

Yes its a built in sump in the back, same concept as a biocube or what not. Here are some pics of the holding tanks. Just put the coral you see in the cube in today so they are a little shrunk, also just installed a x12 3w cree par 38 bulb 6rb/6cw

I think I have heard of that store.
Are they not located in Oregon???

hey iroll, do you think one of those par bulbs would light up a 20L with 6" OF ONE END turned into a sump/fuge. so basiclly 24" of tank. i like the look of the leds and im running MH over all 3 of my tanks but dont know enough about drivers and dimmers and potmeters ect to make my own. I really like the cube might i ask what they charged you for that tank? thanks

I would use two of these bulbs for a 24'' tank buts that in my opinion. The light is just enough to run anything in my 18x14'' display. As far as Oceans By Design, they will be located in tukwila and should be opening within the coming months. Im sure there will be much more work from them to hit the forums soon. Still waiting on that camera!

Also for a 20l you could get a non dimmable, 12 led kit from rapid and get a 18-24'' heatsink then add an additional two bulbs of any color you want since the 700ma driver it comes with will push 14 leds. I have three 14 led strings like that and they each ran roughly $115

Two top downs of my 18x18x12 acrylic cube one of two month old true percs the other of my zoa garden in the works. The black and white is after my tank merge today to the 24x24x16. Im still waiting on a dslr so a black and white is the only way I could capture an image with the cree leds and my cell phone.

Nice zoa garden...nice acan garden started too.
And the babies are sooooo cute at that age aren't they. They grow up fast.

Great zoa garden, you have my two coral addicitons in that tank. Zoa's and LPS. Looking good :becky:

Thanks! I would have had more lps if my order with mr. coral would have worked out. :deadhorse: Oh well though you win some you lose some I guess. I plan on placing an order for at least 10 ricordia soon as well as some acans ive been seeing online. In the mean time Ive been hitting random members up but if anyone wants to discuss selling a coral package pm me. Im looking for more zoas/lps/sps! The baby clowns are growing so fast its almost frustrating lol I want them to stay small..

The par 38 was purchased new from a member selling them on NR.
