So th eprivate party that was interested in my system has bagged out and I am back to square one. I have contacted lacal LFS but am very open to any suggestions. I am curious if the PSAS illuminati thinks a "Take Down Party" would be a good idea? Maybe in place of a monthly event.

sorry to hear this...

If I can help let me know...

btw, (on a separate note) I have identified several reasons to my HA and bryopsis which is almost gone..have more HA than anything..but is under control...

do share. I have some pretty strong theory about HA at this point but am always interested in others' opinions.

Thanks guys. All very nice comments and much appreciated. Got en EEG Wednesday to judge whether things are back to normal and maybe get to drive again.

Many thanks to Eric at The Shark Reef for being an all-around good guy. As many of you know, I am in the process of breaking down my tank, and have many sweet corals to offload. Eric and I have discussed this a bit and we both felt that he would not be able to handle the SPS, but he did mention he knew a local that just had a melt-down.

Turns out the melt-down was caused by family members not following instructions during a move, and Eric passed along his email address. I didn't quite understand that and replied asking if he wanted part of it (the deal). Eric's reply was no, he just wanted to make sure the corals got to good homes.

I really have to tip my hat to Eric. That is a profoundly generous and humane thing to do. Kudos Eric!

I don't think so. The leathers I have are all from Sherman's tank, and I think most are green varieties. The one pictured under the right light is wicked neon green. Actually quite startling IMO.

Well, today I Dan (kitsapdan), Dan (danno) and his buddy (so sorry I cannot remember his name) came over and talked reef and bought corals. I think both got pretty good deals and I sure hope they enjoy and care for them as I would want to. Maybe they can post their new corals here if they get time.

Eric from The Shark Reef also came by and we discussed breaking down the tank. Our conclusion was that I should sell as many of the corals as possible before he comes in and tears it down. I will start working on this in the next day or two.

He also mentioned that if people are interested in particular fish, they could schedule to be here when he takes down the tank and those fish could go home directly, rather than have to be acclimated to his systems. I am very grateful for this suggestion. SInce I don't know when it will be yet, I will hold off on scheduling this.

Also, there is a gentleman from the Mid-West interested in buying the entire system, so I am working with him to see if that bears any fruit. It seems like a far-fetched plan, but he tells me he has all the equipment, vehicles etc. to get the job done. I will give that a couple days and see if anything develops further.

I think both got pretty good deals

YEAH! and I can attest to the quality of what is left....Wish I had the space (and $$$) for more.

J- Great to finally see the system. Shouldn't have taken me so long. Just got everything acclimated and in the tank, so I am looking forward to "Christmas" tomorrow when the lights are on.

Thanks again,
D

Yeah, many thanks Dan. By the end I was pretty blown out but it was great to have you guys over. I only wish it was under better circumstances. My tank is looking horrid with so many corals gone but that's the way it goes I guess.
