my 12x12x12 with par 38

Ok so I decided my 2.5 gal pico needed to be a bit bigger so picked up a new tank at the barrier reef sale. First pics are of my old tank then you can see what i upgraded to. Love the par 38 all my corals opened up finally guess the original LED was not enough. Let me know what you think there is alot of room left for expension now that i have a bigger tank. For all that I have got corals from hope you like the new look now. Thanks for all the cool frags they have really taken off.
Have a hydro pico powerhead in the tank, 100 watt heater and hob gutted with a filter sponge and full of cheto. The light is a par 38 in a ikea fixture about 2 feet above the tank

Nice, another 12" cube! you should consider a lid or a screen top for that tank, especially since clown gobys are known for jumping :\

I have been debating on putting a top on it not sure for now, I have had no problems with this little guy have had him for over half a year now and he's never tried to jump out before. Thanks for the advice I will keep a eye on him

Not that they're the same fish (obviously), but I just had a flame hawk jump after 2.5 years (sucked). So good looking out on the heads up.

yeah, i would be very pissed off if my semi snow clows jumped, so the first thing i put on my cube was a poly carb lid. I used 1/8" and its bowed maybe 5mm.

Thanks Krish it seems that my wife loves it so much she took it over and it has been claimed as hers I just do the manual labor. She told me the big tank is mine now too bad thats got another couple months before it can have corals in it.

Ok I am slowly updating the pics of the tank here is a more recent full tank shot. We got rid of the leather rock so we could have more zoos on the tank love the Zoos. Thanks to everyone I have meet that I have got new things from. More pics of the new stuff up close to come

Small update, we added a yellow prawn goby to the tank the candy apples you see on the frag piece have been moved to the bottom, they like it there alot more. The green monti piece might need a need home seems its getting too much light no matter how low I move it in the tank it keeps getting lighter and lighter. I think when i get my new fuge built I am going to run mangrove trees to help with filitration been reading up on them. Just need to find you where to get some.

Is it the 12K, 20K?

Which wattage is yours?


I'm planning to do the same thing - get one of the PAR38s and use it over my QT/frag tank - just haven't pulled the trigger yet on the bulb
