Looking good Krish! What do you have in the back chambers? I think I'm gonna put LR in one and a sponge in the other. I'm kinda disappointed about the 'pod hood; there isnt any way that I can get my CSS65 on the tank without major mods.

looks good dude....

yeah, my remora nano is still not producing foam....

Thanks Matt! And yeah...Mine just sounds like a hot pan of grease right now sizzling:p

Thnaks man!!! In the back chambers I don't have anything, but pumps. All the sponges etc are gone. However, I did hang a bad of carbon in there. If you do decide to use a sponge, make sure you rinse it out every other day atleast. You don't want it to cause water quality issues. As for your hood, you got the one with the full hood to house pc's huh?

Small update. The lighting has raised the temp some. The tank will sit at 79F on its own, but when the lights come on it will get to 84F so I have a fan connected blowing the surface on the same timer as the lights. I will make something tomorrow to hold the fan on so it can look neat:)

Great Pic. Are you concerned at all how bright you moon lights are? Don't get me wrong they look great, but we've had this discussion up here before about them. Good/Bad?...

Thanks James aand nope! I don't run them. I would never leave either on unless I am down there looking at the tank. I believe in total darkness at night in the tank so I'm good:0

Upsetting update...I figure before the day/week is out unless I act really fast, I may have a tank full of dead corals. My temp swings are insane! I don't understand it at all. The tank stayed 79F through the night on it's own Saturday night with the ac set to the same temp as it was last night and this morning I woke up to 84.5F! I honestly didn't want to use a chiller on this tank, but I may not have a choice. I'll have to look into something today I guess...:doubt:

try taking out your extra powerheads, or try a fan blowing across the water.

are you using the glass top? could be holding in heat. whats the outside temp these days?

Hey Larry...I'm not using the glass top. I knew that would be an issue, so I never put it on. I have a clip on fan on the tank running now which when my temp was up the other day, it brought it down to almost 75F! I had to cut it off! The fan can definately cool the tank and I have a smaller one I will hook up and see wht that does, but the actual temp of the room is 78F and in the beginning without the lights on, it would stay at 79F, but something weird is going on. Too bad I'm to work and will be here all day:doubt: I told my wife to keep an eye on it so we'll see.

call your wife and unplug the maxi jet's to eliminate that as a heat source. till you get home

do you have a heater in it?? could it be malfuntioning?

Heater??? Not in the Bahamas:p I could tell her to un-plug them, but I'd rather not(LOL) She may screw up something and she's got the baby to deal with and so I just left that fan on for now. It will gt that temp down in no-time. My problem is just maintaining it. I may have to get these 2 pieces here and see how they work. I heard they work really well

IceProbe Thermoelectric Aquarium Chiller

50 Watts of Cooling Power
Easy Bulkhead Installation (will need to drill)
Quiet, Efficient & Reliable
Environmentally Friendly

can you drill the back or are you comfortable doing so? if you do let me know how it turns out.

your heat has to be comming from all the powerheads. remember you dont have alot of water volume here.

1 for the return
2 mj 1200 for the flow
1 for the skimmer..

IMO overkill!

figure out how to bump the flow up on your return. use lockline to spread out flow. take out the extra MJ's, and Ill bet ya your temp will come down some.

add a wood airstone to your skimmer and it will work like you never wanted it too.

Yeah, the drilling part I wouldn't do. I would just buy a small powerfilter (Aquaclear) and drill that. Not sure yet though. I have smaller fans that don't blow as hard as the 5 inch clip on and I will hook one of them up and see how it works. Like I said, it would get to 79F on it's own (was there all day yesterday until the lights came on) so unless 1 pump went bad, I don't know what happened. I may ended up buying a 1/15hp chiller though and rest my mind. I thought about getting rid of one of the maxijets, but my corals like the flow:p

I just ran home and the temp went down to 81F with the fan on it after about 1.5 hours or so. I made a small bracket to hold a smaller fan and did a swap and left the smaller one on to see what it does. It definately doesn't need much to cool so I may be able to get by with a fan on a timer maybe running for an hour then off an hour etc. I'll have to see. I may just buy a 1/15hp chiller and call it a day, but not sure yet.

I like the new tank Krish! Glad you were able to get your heat under control. Those halides can really wreak havoc on our tanks tempatures. Can't wait to see some new pics.

1- for Phosban Reactor.

I agree with Larry. To many PH's. One single PH will raise the temp of my 5g SW mixing bucket right up to about 80 deg.

I was wondering if you where going to have a heat issue with all those.

You could go by a chiller like Matt. :D

Thanks Nick! I'll get more pics:)

About the heat, James, I went home again and the temp was 78.8 ;) I'm going to buy a timer that will allow the fan to run for about 2 hours and then shut off for an hour or so (I'll monitor it) and then run the entire time the lights are on. That should do the trick. I'll watch it though, but before I lose any flow, I will buy a chiller and the way it is looking, I won't need a chiller nor need to lose any pumps:)
