So here is my attempt to link my two anemone tanks to a wet/dry filter I converted to a sump refugium. The first and fairly complete (they are never complete are they?) tank is a 46 bowfront that is my BTA tank that for a while housed a purple Magnifica. And the other is my 30 gallon Carpet anemone tank. which houses a giant green carpet and mini maxi carpets, with a couple LPS corals. My idea is to upgrade the 30 to 45 or 55 gallon tank. I have both I just need to decide. All I need is a overflow and a MH light And I can start. I have video of the BTA tank following but I need to post the carpet tank. I had a green hair algae outbreak that I have been trying to get under control. So when the lights are on I will post one. I have wanted to combine the systems because of the death of my purple mag I suspect was from a fluctuation of parameters that are so easy to have happen with 46 gallons.between the two systems and the sump I would have around 115-125 gallons total volume. OK so on with the videos

and this is video of the Magnifica.

and yet more nem candy lol:popcorn:

I like the tanks man. Kinda species specific. Your clowns are in heaven! It's like living in a Sleep Number Bed store. :) Do they tend to favor a certain one, or hop all over the tank? Back when I had my RBTA, when I put big chunks of food in the fish couldn't get down their chubby throats, the clowns would grab the food and drag it down to their host to feed it. Do yours do the same? It would be interesting to see if they feed them all, or just the same ones every time.

Yep they are species specific. I had my fill of mixing anemones. But I will try the H. mag again when the right one crosses my path. The BTA tank is fun to watch because the clowns visit every nem in the tank. They don't favor any except that the stayed most of their time in the mag when it was around. And they don't feed any anemone, in fact that raises a sore point with me. They actually tear food away from the nem and spit it on the floor. So I have to distract them and hope the nems eat quick enough. but with so many nems it has completely cut the aggression of the female that used to draw blood on me.
Here is the video of the carpet tank. It is a little simple now until I get the upgrade on line. Then it could be wall to wall carpets muah ha ha ha. I would not want to be a fish in that one. lol.

I came home the other day to see my powerhead laying on what was left of the sandbed. The old suction cups gave way and blew the sandbed all over the tank. Causing all but two BTA's to shrink back into caves that only one has come out of.I am officially not a fan of suction cups. But they good news is I added more CUC namely 4 scarlet hermits and 5 more nassarius snails. And after watching my anemone crab steal food for months from the bleached BTA, I yanked him and put him on the green Haddon's anemone. And pulled out the caulerpa from the sump and put in a handfull of chaeto. I hope it grows fast lol.

OK so I installed a Red Sea Wavemaster (a big thanks to Kpiotrowski on that!) and added two koralia evolution 550's. It has created an improved flow. I immediately noticed detritus rising up in the water column which is the reason I wanted to do this but it also looks great and the anemones love it they really stretched out and look great. And no suction cups:). And I have also been planning on moving the 45 so I can get a sand bed in there and move the live rock I have in there. I also picked up a 30 gallon sump to tie the two tanks together. Where I will run a much more traditional sump design. My Current sump had several flaws that although my system reached equilibrium it took effort. This tank will house a carpet anemone and possibly saddlebacks or pink skunks:)I'm a month or two away from that even though I have all the equipment I want to take my time and get the rock and sand cured. Here is a better video of the corrected flow.
