I will feel better if we can just walk through a 6' wide opening.

After messing with it all day, I'm about to attach a clamp to the door with a rope and tie the other end to the bumper of my Jeep.
Then go buy some visqueen

i have a hammer drill if you wanna borrow it, maybe drill it out from underneath?

I used a sawzall to cut the bottom flange away from the concrete, but my problem is the wheels under the slider won't retract far enough to lift it out of the track.
I can get the door itself up on the tract flange, but when you look in from the other side you can see the wheel assembly hanging down preventing a easy out.

I spoke with someone that said if I was able to get a pry bar in under each side and jam the wheels up, then it would pop out. But it's usually a 2 man job. And I'm assuming you should have some idea of what you are doing
I just have to figure out how to get it done.
Breaking it would cost $498 + tax to replace it.
I looked at Lowes this morning, they have them instock lol

well, i'm a drive away, and a chick (but i can sure use a pry bar) if you decide to go out without calling in a pro, and can wait on the weekend , i'll take a drive out and see if can manage to not make beautiful glass shards of it and manage not to bleed ourselves too bad in the process. sure you have other folks who would help, but what the hell, could be fun... LOL

I am assuming you did, but have to ask, did you adjust the wheels on the bottom of the door all the way up as high as they can go? the door should almost fall out.

My other option would be to cut away a 5" section of the track wall and each end of the door, just low enough ( about 7/16") to clear the wheels.
I'd rather not do that as it is visible.
I think I could find some 1/4 round molding that would cover it, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

cut it, then cut some flooring, put some tile down... tell the wife you just wanted a place for your muddy boots to not screw up the nice flooring. :)

That's exactly what everybody I have talked to about this said, and it's the first thing I tried.
I remember putting the door in, and using the adjustment screw to raise the door up so it wouldn't fall out.
That was 9-10 years ago.

But for some reason the wheel assembly on both ends of the door won't raise up high enough.

hey can you post a picture of that door way so we know what we are looking at. i bet we can just put it on its side and bring it in. leave the sliding door in. looks like too much trouble. i have two furniture dollies. we will be just fine.

I'm going to give it another shot before I concede defeat.

I'm asking a lot of people, just to drive down here to help. I don't want to add the stress of turning a tank that heavy, over on it's side, then back again once inside.
My plan was to back my truck up to the edge of my patio, attach some suction cups and walk straight in about 25' and set it down on the stand.
With the overflow box hanging off the back side, I don't want take any more changes than we have to.

Wow lots of work, this shows passion for the trade LOL, can't wait to see the new tank go in!

sweet, one less thing to worry about. It sounds like its going to be a nice weekend too.

You know how it is sometimes. You just have a idea on how you want things to work out, and you'll do just about anything to make it work.
