hmm can we switch stands dood :D

LOL ok you can have mine but you have to carry it home on your back. spin around 3 times and touch your nose to get it :D

dabears, took me 10 days of lazily working on it total to get to that point. I have been only able to work on it on weekends and and not every weekend so there was alot of setup and break down of equipment.

I got some better pics of the stand. I didn't get a chance to do any work yet. Hopefully I can have this soon enough.

hmm you really want me to sweat it eh :D ... i don't knwo dood because then the stand would get here all wet from me crossing the border and with holes on it :D
i still think it looks awesome dood and seriously you don't kow how much i wish you lived closer :)

Thanks Krish :) I am hoping I will have one on there next month. I have the glass ordered. It's more a matter of the pumps I want to put on it that is delaying me. We will see though.

Ok the stand is finally done :D

I haven't been able to get to my Dads house to finish it for a while. So I spent a Sunday for a few hours, stained it. Then my Dad put on 6 coats of Polyurethane. I am extremely pleased that the maple trim ended up matching in color with the pine. I love how it looks. I'll add some photos when I get the tank i am building on it.

Way to Get Rrrr Done Ron! That shurly is a pretty stand. So When do you think we will see a fish tank on top of it?

ohh man that's a very very pretty stan :) .
if i was you, i'd start making more stans and selling them, i'm sure you'd make quite some money.

Very nice work, I don't think you'll have to worry about ever having stand problems. Looks like a very high quality piece of furniture.;)

Thanks everyone!

I expect to have the new tank done within 2 weeks. Now getting water into the tank is a diffrent story. I ordered the glass to make the sump this week. I won't be putting water in that for 2 weeks after it is built. To let the silicone cure fully without stress. I decided to change the dimensions of the tank itself to make it a 90g+. So, 36"x24"x24".

Ok here's the tank portion of this adventure.

Ok I got a few pics of me getting ready to REDO to dang corners. I screwed up the silicone in the corners. Also I am adding the overflow at the same time. I have 3 holes in the back glass for closed loop, 4 holes in the bottom glass. 2 holes in the bottom back are for overflow and return, the other 2 in the front are for closed loop.

The tank is 36"x24"x26". 3 side 1/2" Starfire, the back and bottom are regular glass. The tank will have 3" Euro bracing on 3 sides (front and 2 sides) Not for any strength, just for looks. This dimension tank doesn't need it.

The glass for my sump wasn't right so I had to reorder the glass to do that.

Looks good Ron! Don't think you've quieted me by posting a few pics! I need to see some water in the thing(LOL JK) Looks good man. Take your time. You will regret it if you don't. Best of luck with it:)

Thanks guys :D I hope to have a full system run down and pics in 2 weeks. I am going to San Diego at the end of the month, so I may have to delay another 2 weeks. But we will see :)

I just have to say Ron, your stand looks & is built better than most I've seen, I really wish I had your carpentry skills, I need it for the stand I'll soon have to build, 6' long. I like how your making your own glass tank & sump, that is just awesome, I made a glass sump once but wouldn't say it was the prettiest thing. I can't wait to see your tank with water, no doubt it will be beautiful.

Thanks Scooterman! Like I said I am hoping 2 weeks I will have water in the tank. I have to do some traveling so I want to get it done sooner than later.

Well i hope you have fun in San Diego, you can go check Shamu (or whatever is the whale's name) in Sea world :D ... may be steal a couple of cleaner shrimps from them :p .
I'm with Scooter dood i wish i had yoru skills and seriously I LOVE THAT DRAWER !!!! i'm in love with your stand!!! :)
