And so it starts! Put the baffles in tonight :) Got a little tricky with the last one. But smaller hands prevailed! Used masking tape on one side to hold them in place. Worked better then I thought it would :)

NICE!! They can be tricky to put together but you did an awesome job!

+1 also, looks really nice. They always look so clean and pretty before they get used. :)

Well crapola! First baffle leaks on the bottom. I kind of knew it would. It won't sit flush because the tanks sealant keeps it from doing so.
I added more sealant, hope that fills the gaps. If not I'll take it apart, clean it up and try again.

You should be ok.
Let it sit till tomorrow and try it again.

Well crapola again! Lol Now the last baffle leaks from the bottom :) Added more sealant. Can't get the calking gun in there so I gotta use my fingers. That was my first mistake. Should have done that one first.

Well crapola big time! Used the wrong silicone!!! 5:30am and something nagged at me to check. Sure enough the fine print on the tube says, not for prolonged use under water. Plus I checked on the web an find NOT to use the anti microb stuff. Which did I use? Yuppers!! UGH!! Dap!

Double crap.

I know this is going to set back your time table, here is what I would do.
Take out the baffles. Clean out all the silicone. It will be a pita.

Here is 2 different silicones you can order. The first one is obviously a aquarium sealant

Here is another sealant that people use when building large aquariums. It will work too. I used the black color when I built my 50 gallon tank.

Time I got a lot of :) Just pi$$ed at myself for not reading the fine print and for not asking what others used.
So off to Lowes I go to spend more moneys :( <sigh>

IMO, I'd skip Lowes and use something that was made specifically for the application.

Baffles are out & cleaned. My hands are killing me!
Will put it all together tomorrow.

My Mag 5 Supreme arrived today. All that's left to get is sand & some rock for the fuge :) Oh and a drill-lol.

:) i keep waiting to hear how drilling goes. i personally would plan to do that last, just to make sure after i had screwed it up, i'd have to try again!

Well I just got done putting the baffles back in. Water tight? I'll find out tomorrow. Still gotta get me a drill. Just wanted to get the sump done first :)
