So I just wanted to get some feedback rom you folks, how do you think were doing?? what do you like or dislike? and most important what would you like to see that we dont have????

Thanks

Mike

I think you guys are doin great!! Maybe a little more room in the photo gallery, either that or I'll have to start resizing pictures. But that is no real big deal. I like the fact that if you post a new thread, it isn't buried in 10 minutes. It seems as though everybody gets to take a look at it and comment if they want.

Keep up the good work:cool:

Well it would be nice to really know who's who since the elections. Alice posted something; but didn't it say webmaster vacant and isn't that Chuck.... so guess Chuck doesn't need to worry about a flack jacket if it isn't his job anymore... lol

It seemed a bit odd the elections were early and then people posted asking what was up and no one really said...

we love it here though, no matter who's in charge!

Incomming!

Good thread Mike ... let's see if I need to go get my flack jacket out of the closet :D

LOL Chuck! Just my .02.........Concerning the election date change. It seems a bit more attention should have been taken with what was posted on the site and the election being moved up. I have dealt with enough groups and politics over the years to know this kind of thing can turn bad in a hurry. That being said, I think everyone at PSAS and Reef Frontiers is busting their butt to make this a GREAT site and organization:D . I have never met a better group of folks who are ready to help out at a moments notice.........Anywhere, Anytime. Thanks to all!

I'm very new to this website, and to Reef Keeping in general. Actually if it weren't for this site I probably would have just stuck with my freshwater tanks :) The site is absolutely wonderful. The only thing that I think would have helped me out more, would have been a seperate section covering the basics of setting up a Reef (Articles for first timers, what equiptment is needed, what to expect from your first algae bloom) You know...basically Reef Keeping for Dummies type stuff :)

The info is pretty readily available in the forums, but thats just something that I think would make it easier for alot of people. I see alot of posts on the forums asking the same questions over, and most of these questions, and answers would be great to have in an easily accesible area. Just my 2 cents....heck ....I'm not even sure if this was what your original question was relating to, but I hope this helps some.

One of the best sites I've ever visited...

Welp...now I feel pretty silly...I've been reading and posting here for 3 months, and never saw the whole section in the forums specfically relating to my last post. Ignore me.....I must be inhaling far too much acrylic glue as of late.

I think the content and look of the site is great I just think it needs a little more traffic. I just think it's always nice to see plenty of feedback on the threads. Pretty sure this will come in time as more people find out about this site. I might be part of the minority but I also like that there is not a there is not a dedicated section on this site for "vender experiences". On other boards I have seen how some businesses must suffer due to some of the comments being made. I could go on about this but i'm affraid it's a little of topic. Keep up the good work.
See Ya,
Chad

This site has been very helpful to me as a 'newbie' to the whole SW experience. I have viewed so many threads and have learned a lot in a very short time thanks to the experienced folks that frequent and run this site.
While looking at tanks and pics and trying to decide what I want my tank to be when it grows up, it would be helpful to have names of those gorgeous looking frags I have seen posted and info on how and where to place the little guys. The books I have stocked up on tell me where they come from, if they are easy to care for or not, but nothing on how and where to place. That info would be great to hear from you so very experienced reefers.
I love what you have to offer, your years of experience and wealth of information are invaluable to a novice.
I will keep visiting and reading and learning from you. This is a very friendly and accepting group of people. Keep up the good work and remember, we uneducated need the info that that may be second nature to the more experienced.
Someday I will make you proud!

Far away from your part of the country, wishing I could take a weekend drive to see your LFS Kevinpo and your much talked about tanks mojoreef........and all the rest of you, I must stay in Denver and learn thru computer osmosis...

I think the board is doing great, could use a little more exposure but it will come.
I missed the last meeting :( so I missed out on all the election thing, but the board seems seamless, and thats a good thing:)

I think my concerns have been covered above. Mainly about the elections. I thought they were a certain date and they were moved up without giving notice to any of us. So the members that missed that meeting just didn't get a chance to voice our opinion (aka vote). Then I posted a message asking who was elected and it was quite some time before Alice (thank you) finally answered and she didn't even have all the information.

The forums and all I think are being run really really well. I enjoy hanging out on here and trading information. So thanks everyone for making this a great place!

The Elections for the PSAS club doesnt really have anything to do with the Reef Frontiers Board, beyond announcing them. All of the internal club going on's and procedures are handled and done by the PSAS board of directors. So we cant help ya with that one but please feel free to PM or email fragman (pualH) or Gordo (gordon) for any information you may need.

I really think you guys are doing a great job with the site. One suggestion would be if you could incorporate a standard input form so that we could enter typical info about our tank setups (i.e. size, lighting, substrate, dominant coral type, flow, etc.) in a way that we could search for similar tanks to our own.

For example, if I were going to upgrade to a 300 gallon tank and I wanted to see similar setups for ideas, I could filter for systems from 250 to 450 gallons and see how other people are setup. Just a big database that should get better with time.

An idea is all. Do with it what you will.

It is true I stepped down from everyday operations with PSAS. The PSAS webmaster position is simply ensuring the appropriate content for PSAS is maintained and evites get distributed etc, not the operation of Reef Frontiers ... Reef Frontiers is a separate entity and I will still be handling this site :)

I find this a very easy going and friendly atmosphere, I can get access to great information & at the same time help out a little when I can. I think we're growing at a great rate & not growing to just put up high numbers, the members we have are genuine, which I find very alluring to the site.

Thanks to everyone here, cheers!:D

Thanks for the clarification Chuck, but your flack jacket can probably be burned as it's doubtful you would ever need it!!!

Thanks for all you do!

I have a small problem I think on my end. I get a "runtime error do you wish to debug?" box on every page I open - I have the same problem on E-bay.
My second problem is - I can't figure out how to load a picture for anything.

I think this site has helped me more than any other. The thing I really like is the fact that I can ask a question and get some sort of answer within no more than 24 hours (and for a newbie this is crucial so that I dont really muck my tank up). Maybe I havent found it yet but A section on how and what size of pic I can post would be helpfull. I see all these gorgeous large pics of tanks and I struggle to get a smaller 2 megapix pic posted. Great site great friendly bunch of people you all are a wonderfull help.

Jon, here is a link to a thread that I gave a brief description on attaching pics. Check it out and see if it helps: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2293&highlight=post+and+reply

Reed, that's an interesting thought, and something to consider. We have the People's Reefs section - maybe if having a database won't work out - when pictures are put up in the People's Reefs section, they could title the picture with their tank size and name. Then in the comments area, list the equipment, etc. I always enjoy looking at tanks of similar size to get ideas of aquascaping, coral placement, etc.

Chuck/Mike, what exactly is "Reef Frontiers"? You say it's not an official arm of PSAS, but is independent. Is it an incorporated, for profit venture?
