Jiddy - What size sump is it? Just curious what your total water volume will be. Don't forget when you sell your other equipment (if you plan too), it will help pay for some of the new stuff! OR.....you could still set up the other tank, and do a fish only :D. Congrats - sounds like a nice deal!

Thanks Nikki, but the only "other" equip i have is the 90gal, i will be sellin that thou, and yea ill be okay finacially! I wont pik up the tank until this weekend because the guy needs to hold it for his LR, he is gettin a 10 footer, he'll be keepin sharks & rays (nice to see in S.Dakota!) but when i went to go check it out i would say the sump is kind of like a 20gal aquarium, i cant remember becuase i was so excited to see a big tank like that for sale in my state, plus i was tryin to keep a cool guy face so he didnt jak the price up or anythin, i was like a little kid in a candy shop and 2 nickels! Anyways.....

My 300th post! Anyways, is there any reason why an Achilles Tang would be a bad fish for a newbie to own in a reef?

Hey Jidz Congrats! That will be a great tank to have. I would say that a Achilles tang is a pretty bad choice for a newb. They are a tough tang to keep, they are really ich prone and most don't make it in captivity. Beautiful fish tho! I personally think they are a bad choice even for experienced keepers. I am not sure if it due to the way they are collected or if they are just especially prone to disease.

Thats what i thought i heard before too BigT, thanks! I just really dont like any of the big fish i guess. Im more of a clown/goby/blennie type of guy really, but since im gettin a 220gal i wanted to have one center piece fish you know =( back to the pictures i guess

Here is my list thus far:

1 organge 1 black perc
jawfish (maybe 2) with pistol shrimp
mandarin (after 6 or so months)
4 or so Blue Chromis
and a Violatin(?) Lion fish
I was kiddin about the lion
and i want a center piece tang or somthin similar, just havent found one i like =(

a Blue Tang (aka Hippo or Regal) would make a nice center piece :)
I would say rabbitfish like my foxface but I'm not so sure yet, he seems to eat anything.

I was thinkin hippo too Scooter, couldnt i keep 2 of them? Hey scooter i dont have to sell you that "thing" we were talkin about anymore, the IRS called me and told me they are goin to give me more money, enough to get LR and a PS and still get shoes to please the other half!

You will eventually have problems with Two Hippos, & most angles will nip at corals, I would have to look that one up.

I'm in it deep right now, just got a new skimmer, & a custom reactor for carbon & phosphate remover, plus I just spent 17K on a new travel trailer, I'm about buried already, next stop the old folks home, I may get a free meal! :(

jidz If you want to try an angel the regal is nice and I plan on trying one in the future. you should only do it with all SPS though because they will likely eat other coral such as zooanthids. They aren't considered reefsafe but people put them in there tanks and they are hit or miss.

Congrat’s on the bigger tank, Jiddy!!!
It probably wouldn’t fit underneath.... But it sure would be sweet if you could use the 90 gallon as your sump.
Way to go, by listing what you want, and getting the opinions from those with more experience.... The best way to do it!!

Thanks shallow haole for givin me props, i will prolly just use the 90gal for leisure swims or Anglers, i think they are sweet!

Well nevermind a Regal than brad, im not into SPS yet, i was goin to go with softies like Zoos, lol, basically i want one high-dollar Tang or Butterfly that isnt as common as a yellow tang you know? Any suggestion, somthing like an Achilles Tang but not that.....

I dump my pics at photobucket.com and then get the IMG tag. copy that and the paste it in your post. They can be bigger because reeffrontiers doesn't have to store them.
