It seems decent has levels and can tighten from all axis. Any tips on settings to make the pictures more crisp and not slightly washed out?

I'm using f/s 5.6, ISO 400, shutter 500/s, not quite happy with the crispness I'm getting.

Also how do you do white balance? I did it accordingly to the book, i put a white piece of paper under my tank's light and set the white balance to that picture, but when i take pics with that balance everything looks orange almost like incandescent lighting. So I've been using it with non custom white balance and the color looks more like it should like all the pics i took are almost perfect color wise.

I would knock the ISO down to 100 or 200 corals don't move!!!!!!:D

I took a piece of white PVC and shot it in the tank.

ok, in the tank.. i did it outside tank and set the light on the paper paper looked pretty white/blue not sure why the pics turned out orange?

I took some pretty nice fishy pics today :D Helped a ton swapping back to the 18-55mm lense so i could get right up the glass(duh).

Are you shooting in the manual mode or using one of the other modes? I usually shoot in the Av mode.

Mostly manual mode, yeah i haven't really tried coral pics much so i've had the iso higher and shutter speed up. I figure that if i can get the hang of the catching moving objects thing down the stationary should be fairly easy.. maybe not though!

Your best friend is going to be the delete function!!!! I don't know how many pics I have actually taken, but I know I have deleted at least half of them sometimes!!! Get in touch with Michael, and have him give you some hands on help!!!

Hey, you're getting good!!! Come on over, if you'd like, bring your camera gear and we'll talk about some settings and such, that may help out!!

Thanks Michael that sounds fun, we'll have to do that sometime i don't have much to take pics of with my little 20L hehe.

It's true what they say about practice, here a few more pics from today i took they are tons better than my pics just a few days ago.

Mr. Hidey himself.

Simple Blue Ric focus isn't perfect.

This is probably my favorite pic i've taken so far period, this guy has always been so hard for me to focus on despite his near stationary behavior.

Next task: the Sixline Wrasse!

FAR less now :) I'm actually using manual zoom on most of these now slow shutter (1/20 about) F 5.6, iso 100. I took about 33 pics and got about 8 or 9 that i like :D before it was like 120 for like 4 hehe.

New Favia frag (thanks Joanne!) and a few more pics of fish cause they are fun to try and take pictures of :D
