Well I got home today. The title says it all. No one will admit it. Trin was with me all day at the doctor so she didnt do it. I shiphoned most of it out, but it had hours to dissolve. The sump is full too. Right after i filled the sump with live rock rubble. I did a big water change on the tank, I got the sump running just on the skimmer with the main tank running just on two tunze. I keep blowing the sump with a baster and letting the skimmer work at it. I dont know how its going to work out. I reallly really really want to choke someone. I hope my tank doesnt crash.

Thats why some animals eat there young. Keep changing water.:)

Don

how old are the kids??? try to trick them up...maybe they will accidentally give themselves up

what can you do? kids are always going to "help". i don't have kids, nor do I have a large tank, but I know the feeling of being angry without anywhere to direct it. take a deep breath, and continue the water changes happily. don't let it sour you.best of luck.:D

I know who did it. She just wont admit it. I know she is lying. Looking off and up to the left. Her brother and sister will look right at me with normal eyes. She has her eyes all wide and stares straight at me.

It's always the things you don't think of that do you in, isn't it? Who was the guy whose cat pissed in his sump? Didn't see that one coming either, I'll bet.

hi wright,
maybe you should try to dose some oxidant to oxidize the left over food that you can't reach:)

Slickdonkey - that was in Charlie's thread, and it wasn't going pee in the sump....he just wondered about it.

Steve - hang in there! Let us know if you get any algae blooms. You could always put a little carbon dust on the container and tape some scotch tape on it. Tell the kids you are taking finger prints, and it would be best to admit to doing it, before you send the tape off to the crime lab :D. What frustrates me in situations like this is you know it probably started out as an innocent helpful feeding, but went all wrong.....the frustration comes in when the kids don't admit to it. I always tell my little one I'm more upset about her not telling me something, than I am about the actual thing she is scared of getting into trouble over.

Sorry to hear that Steve...Bummer! I hope nothing negative happens to the tank as a result. I know you've just recently added new rock in there, but hopefully it will be able to process some of that waste quickly, but like mentioned above (which I know you know;) ) keep up with the water changes.

Now as for who did it...I say buy a nice sized container of the same fish food, some old spoiled milk and tell them all they will be having a new brand of cereal for every meal until there is a confession

Thats hillarious. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are at school. I am just leaving the lights off for a few days. The skimmer is blasting at max. I have about a pound of carbon in there. I will do another water change when I get home this evening. I have to go the lawyer this morning in morgantown, then down to nashvegas to the doctor. I am going to ride the motorcycle and get 68 mph vs the truck with 12.5 Plus it will be a whole lot more fun. I wish I could stay mad but I cant. LOL
I will just let it go. I sure was pissed off yesterday.
Thanks for the help and kind words everybody. Thanks alot.

Kids will be Kids. i did that to my tank once. I left the canister of fish food open and had it sitting on the center brace of my tank. i went to reach for a scraper to clean the walls and knocked about 8000 pellets into the tank. Of course my Blue tang tried his best to consume 4000 of the pellets but what a mess that was.

Steve,

I'm laughing at you...not with you. :D

Seriously,

I hope your tank survives just fine with the additional maintenance. I feel your pain. David nuked my entire tank a couple months back. He didn't have any brothers or sisters to blame, yet he still played the, "Not Me" game (and he's 17....not a little kid).

I'm sure you're frustrated because she won't admit it. Once you save your tank, chalk this up to a "Remember When". A "Remember When" is something that is hilarious 5, 10, 15 years in the future but is NOT funny at the time.

Sorry Steve but the second I saw the title to this thread I started laughing. Probably my favorite part of moments like this is when other people start saying all their similar experiences to show they can relate. Like when my little brother dumped an entire bottle of dish soap into one of my cichlid tanks years ago because he saw me putting an additive into the water and wanted to help.
Good luck on getting everything cleaned up. Hopefully you don't lose anything.
