Well I've got just about everything I need for the tank...sand, overflow kit, tank, stand, sump and I thought i'd show you guys a few pictures. While I was at work today my dad helped cut the pieces of plexiglass for my sump design...turned out beautifully and he even had an ingenious little invention. Instead of having to silicon the pieces 1'' above the floor he cut out a piece on the bottom kind of like a bridge, check the pictures you'll understand. I haven't siliconed it yet so I had to hold it or lean it over

yes it will stick that is how glass tanks are put together. you can get a tube atv home depot for a couple bucks. let it dry 24 hours before you add water

as long as it is 100% silicone it is harmless. you can use the aquarium stuff but it is alot more expensive. i promise you it is the same stuff though

Silicone to avoid would be anything used for windows or in bathrooms, as these types of silicone have mold inhibitors that you DONT want.

Went to Lowe's and got DAP: Aquarium Sealant 100% clear silicone for $3.49 and it covers 15 feet

If you want to make your install look good get a cup of water. After you apply the bead of silicone, dip your finger in the water and run it the length of the seam. Or if you have the money you could get a corner tool that does the same thing. Just an idea.

well it'll be under the tank and it's clear so im not too worried about looks and i'm on a budget!

cup of water and your finger... not too expensive I hope. But If you dont do it I guess it wont matter, like you said no one will see it other than you.
