Opinions on a DIY Calcium Reactor from RC

I was just browsing RC and happened to make my way into the DIY forum. I found this DIY calcium reactor... http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=587186
I'd like opinions about it. Do y'all think it's a decent design and something I could benefit from??? It looks easy enough for even me to make by myself, but I'd like some opinions on it. TIA!

Probably not the most efficient. CA reactors are easy and do not need to be high tech. If you have a table saw and drill I have a very easy acrylic design that works beautifully. Venturi fed and you only need a mj1200.

Ya probably so. Everyone seems to over complicate the whole CA reactor thing.

I guess I was just attracted to the ease of the reacton chamber. My husband and I have only been married 2 yrs so we don't have too many tools yet for working with acrylic, but we're working on it One of our friends owns a company that build solids control equipment for oil purification, but that stuff might be too big... I dunno... I guess I'd have to find out what we'd need first, so a workshop on this might be in order

I think as these workshops go along you'll be able to see how little equiptment is required. Although I have a full toy box, I'll try to use as few and as basic of tools possible. Hopefully the other guys will do the same.

I agree with Don, calcium reactors are not that hard to make. With proper tools and parts, you can make it on your own. Reef Central has tons of DIY plans for Calcium Reactor that you can copy.

you need almost no tools if you can find an acrylic place that will cut and edge the pieces for you. It then becomes a project of gluing together and attaching tubing. A great project I think. I made my own following DJ88's design on RC.

Not to sound stupid or anything, but the only things I've built in my life are legos Eventually if there are step by step instructions, I think I might be able to build something like that. Hopefully...
