I love watching drag racing. I watched Pinks once and it really grabbed me.
Its like a poker game on wheels. The other guy is hiding whats under his hood hoping the challenger does not see it until its too late. You see Auto shops challenging Street Racers and Street Racer winning, etc..
Any other Car Buffs out there that have watched this also?

I'm a dragracing freak myself! I've watched pinks a few times and you are right...It's like poker. Drag racing has become big over here in the Bahamas within the past few years. They only run the 1/8th mile, and it's because they can't get insurance if they run the 1/4. I wonder if there are any more racing freaks out there...

Well hell YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! I love that show. I liked the one with the kid with the 5.0 mustang vs the guy with the 1250hp camaro. The called it a draw and are going to race again. I also liked the one with the kid racing his dads 68 camaro vs the 85-86 something like that Monte with the two stage nitrous. They played his ass, lost twice, then killed him. Then gave his car back cause it broke, so he could race them again later on.
I usually get to build a cart for the mini corvette challenge here in BG every year. I have drove twice.
Helped build a trick super street a few years ago, the guys dad paid for it, and he wrecked it to death the first corner. I mean the upper control arm, the tube braces, and the frame were holding the headers flat against the broken block. Just destroyed it. Oh well it was fun to help build.
I love racing. One a side note
I have a Mallory unilite distributer never used for a 350
a blaster coil
a T.C.I tranny cooler
a T.C.I. fan for the cooler
a polyurathane trans bushing for 350 turbo
And a Set
of World S/R tourquer II heads with 202/160 stainless valves
All for sale.
You pay shipping.
Make a offer, understand that if its insane I will not bite.

Nope they just been sitting in the closet for 5 years. I have a 79 step side chevy long bed truck with the oak bed. I used to love slaying mustangs with it. Took the motor out and stuck it in my dads 64 cutlass convertable. My truck is just sitting out there and I dont really want to do anything with it anymore. I am thinking about selling it. If I do ever build it back up, I plan to go with a world racing engine and just be done with it. That was all stuff I had bought to hop up the one I had. It was just a 30 over 350 4 bolt with undrilled double hump heads, and the eldebrock intake, cam, lifters, and carb pack. Nothing special just was one of those motors that seem to run better than some others.

I'm into it too...used to do it in my youth....but not much any more...:D

I still have the tools, however....even though I don't race anymore, I'll never outgrow the cars....my current one is a modified '97 LT1 Trans Am....fun car, I love driving it...:D

Sounds like somone was building a camaro, nova, chevelle, Monza, Monte with a Small block chevy platform and with a Auto trans. 7 years ago I might have hit on your stuff. I was building a 67 GMC short bed step side.

I missed the mustang and camaro match up. I did see the Model A and GTO match up. The GTO was just built, and freshly painted hours before race the same day. Its a shame the Rear end did not hold up.
I also watched the 68 camaro 500 hp plus race the 1000 hp Monte.
The owners of the 68 were really cool. I am not sure if I would passed up the chance to own the toys he had on the Monte and the car itself. I loved the Red Nova that the 68 beat earlier. Nova had some bugs engine wise. The car was gorgeous. I am assuming the Nova was enough to make 68 Camaro owner happy enough.

Mike did you see the Match up with 2001 or 2002 Firebird against the 97 Camaro. That was the Match up between Auto parts store and Street Racer.
Here is link for those that want to see this show.

Here's my old 2000 Chevy S-10 my wife made me sell because she did a 180 in the street after I added the SLP posi in it. I wished it was standard, but I didn't want to wait 6 months for it to come in special order. The truck costed me $28,000 brand new here at the GM dealership, but because I do all of their audio/security work, I go it for $22,000. You can also see a photo of the stereo I threw in there one afternoon when I was bored. I was supposed to swap it out and do some fiberglass work, but I sold it before...Here is the link to where I had it on cardomain.

Thanks guys...I miss the truck, but I may get me another toy in the new year. I want a 1993 Mustang cobra for a project.

They had some videos on there....a Nova vs. a first Gen Camaro, and a 4th Gen Mustang vs. an LT1 Camaro.....but I didn't see the one you were referring to Ed...:D

Interesting show....I don't get the Speed channel, so I've never seen it....I gotta say, those guys are crazy to risk losing vehicles they have put that much time and money into....
