Please help? I need a very Quiet Pump for my Closed loop SPS and LPS. Any suggestions

So I have gotten some suggestions. I need a very Quiet pump on my closed loop. Bought the QO 5000 for the CL and it sounds like an airplane!!!! I live in an apartment and need something super quiet. This is a 40 gallon breeder with a 29 gallon sump/fuge. Will house LPS, SPS, and Clams. Main Display Fish is a Mandarin. Now, I was told a Pan World Pump is one of the quietest pumps for this. The most quiet was the Poseidon or Velocity T-4, but I was told it would add about 8 degrees to my tank. So people, I need your help. Anyone have a Pan World Pump? How Quiet Are they? I was thinking of the one that pumps 1100 GPH. I have a Quiet One 3000 for my return which I say is probably pumping 650 GPH. I was also told Ehiem but it only pumps 900 GPH and I was told it most likely wouldn't be enough flow for SPS and LPS. Can you help? Velocity T-4, Poseidon, Ehiem or other? Please help.
 
I have a magdrive 1200 as a return on my 120g sps/clam tank and it is super quiet. You do not even know it's on besides it's moving water. I have had the T-4's and had 2 burn out on me. I have not been unhappy once since adding this pump.
 
Another quite pump is the Ehiem. Either the 1260 @ approx. 600gph or the 1262 @ approx. 900gph. Also with a closed loop you have little or no head pressure. I run the 1262 on a CL on my 70g. and a 1250 for my sump return.
 
The P-4 is one of the quietest pumps out there. It will add some heat but I doubt 8 degrees. I put one on my 180 and I bought a small clip-on fan that I pointed at the pump wet end and never had a problem. These pumps are absolutely silent. You really have to put your hand on them to see if they are working.
There is also a thread on RC about adding a computer heatsink and fan on different pumps for better quieter cooling than the stock cooling fans most pumps have.
 
As you can see in my post I did think about the ehiem. Only problem is it won't be enough flow. My closed loop is split 3 times to add various flow from different directions. I have a T one going to my 3/4in sea swirl, then one going to a loc line. The loc line has a Y fitting and the flow is then distributed 2 ways. So I have 3 splits on my closed loop right now. The ehiem would putter just a little water out. I also heard there would be vibration noise because of the plastic housing. ugh! So you think a Posiedon would work well? Would a fan really cool it down? A guy from Marine Depot said it would not cool it down and that I'd most likely need a chiller. If you think the Poseidon would work without raising my temps way too high, then I'd like to try that. I need something very quiet. Please let me know how many degrees you think it may heat my tank. Again my Main Display is a 40 gallon reef with a 29 gallon sump/refugium. What is a computer heat sink? How much are they? Hey, if it'll work, I'll go for it. My Quiet One is not like yours Coil unfortunately. Mine makes our apartment sound like a power plant. I could not hear the tv over it or talking. It was awful. I had to shut it off. I won't try a T-4 then. Thanks for the heads up. So how many degrees do you believe the Posiedon might add to my tank? Would I have to add a chiller down the road? Right now I have 2 5 in computer fans points towards the water of the main display in my canopy. Then the unit itself has 1 4in fan. So I have 3 total fans in the hood. Finn I will try to look that thread up on RC. If I can't find it and if you have it handy, I'd really appreciate it. I can't have a mag drive externally. I thought about them for the return, but I went with the QO. =( I am thinking of redoing the plumbing to put the QO in the sump. It is silent then. The entire reasoning behind me plumbing it externally was to cut down on heat. I've been trying to set this tank up since April. I am a little frustrated! Thank you.
 
Okay the PS4 is not the T4 you were referring to right? Do you all think the PS4 would be good flow for my tank? It's around 1200 gph. The QO was going to run around 1350 gph.
 
The T-4 and the P-4 are the same pump. There is no way to determine how many degrees it will add to your tank. The only way is to try it and be ready to try and deal with the issue.
You may want to consider a pair of eheims and change your plumbing to match.
 
I'm running two Ehiems and there is no vibration at all. I run the 1262 to a 1" return T'd off to 3/4 and it works great. Being that your using three 3/4 returns it may cut down on the flow. You may consider some eductors. Odds are if your going to have a sps dominated tank you might consider a couple MJmodds. I use 2 MJ 400s modded. My tank is 100% sps but are all frags or small colonies. Once they grow out more I'll have to move up to 600's or 900's which will also be modded.
Having that many T's or Y's is going to creat alot of head pressure. Head pressure on the pump will creat heat. If the P-4 will add 8 deg. then the added head pressure could possibly add to that heat. Like stated above you might consider running two ehiems. Say one 1260 for the sea swirl and the 1262 for the other two with lockline.

For external pumps the sequence makes a series of nice pumps that would work very nicely, check them out at the Premium Aquatics website.
 
If your dead set on an external pump for the CL on this 40 breeder I would consider one of the many pumps mentioned, Ehiem, sequence Squirt Not Dart or probably the best option for this may be the Tunze stream with a controller. Either one you will have considerations to encounter, I think if you already had the Quite one 5000 on it then swapping to the Ehiem may be the easiest to do, you should have enough flow with that but getting exactly what yo want may be difficult, I know I went heads over with trying to figure out what I needed & it wasn't cut & dry, last thing I would want is to say hey use this & it turns out not what you wanted, that would be a disaster.
 
How would I plumb the snapper?

My question is, how would you plumb that Sequence Snapper? I see you need a 2 in feed to the pump. Is there a way to reduce that? Is there something I can buy at home depot to fit onto that pump to decrease the 2in to 3/4 in? I have all my plumbing done and everything is 3/4in. =( I don't see how I could incorporate that into my system. Can you help?:cry:
 
Here is a basic sketch modified to replace the QO3000 with the snapper. It will be using large PVC plumbing seems overwhelming but with a little pacients & a few tries I think it will work out nicely!

Thank you. What do I do with the current 1 in bulkhead that I have in the middle of the tank? I will write more later. I'm taking a break from work. I am currently at work. It looks really nice. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Maybe I should hire someone to do the plumbing for me. I just don't know. I will see what I can do myself.
