Just exactly what family of corals make a table formation? (acro, monti, capicornis?)
The term "table" is used to describe a growth form of Acropora corals. Montipora species are described as "plating" when they grow horizontally. Note: capricornis is a species of Montipora.

How about these pictures taken by me in the worlds "biggest reef tank"....

South Coast of Fiji in Beqa Lagoon.

That huge mother of biggest plating coral was about 85 foot deep too, these bigguns are deep and OLD, and "smaller" ones are right up on the surface only about 5-10 foot deep.

holy hell those pictures are stunning!!!! I didn't see anything that cool when I was in Palau! i think someone just planned my next dive trip!!!

So, did you not just want to go on a fragging spree with all of those corals at low tide?
