Well I have been using a 4 fan combo evap fan over my main display for some time and a 2 fan combo over my sump for some months like this:

fans have worked great problem is the 4 fan combo has a noisy whine to it and is placed in my open top canopy.

I have the unit hooked up to my controller so it it kicks on when my temp gets to 81 f and off when it gets to 80.3 f.

Problem is is the tank is near my bedroom and the fan kicks on during most nights a couple cycles. The whine is of course driving my wife and I a bit crazy (more my wife) if you know what I mean. Anyway, wondering what the quietest fan out these is in the 80 to 120mm series? I'd like to bank 3 to 4 together like the combo unit. Any ideas or quiet fans?

I was looking into these:

Ebay links are not working.

I would recommend purchasing computer fans. 120mm fans for the biggest air movement. You can look on Newegg and pick the ones with the lowest dB rating. Most are reasonably priced and some are effectively silent. Then wire them into a DC power source.

sorry about the ebay links. The first link is in fact similar to the a-zoo but a bit better made IMO. However, the suckers do have a whine, especially the 4 bank version. This is why I'm looking for something else quieter.

Here's the links again.

Here's the 4 fan unit I have that whines like my kids!

Here's the one I'm looking at. Just curious if anyone has used them or what your thoughts might be on review. Seems to be a solid unit and all. It's adjustible to you can tune them up high for super cooling or low for less noise. Also seems more solid if you need to run for longer period of time. My aquateck 4 banker said to limit to 6 hour continuous. Mine are on a controller so this is not a proble, it's just the noise is problematic for me as the tank is near my bedroom door!

Mat, how do you wire to a DC source? I'm new to the electrical thing. The fan I have came with a DC power pack that simply plugged into the outlet and then had a lead that plugged into the fan unit.
