Ahhh what a nice break huh? Warm and sunny after the rain stopped here, today. Unfortunately, those wet roads became REALLY ICY as soon as the sun went down!!! Oh yeah, and in their infinite wisdom, our lovely state doesn't believe in the use of salt anymore...lol. Oh well, everyone drive safe on the icy roads!!
Maybe it's not a state wide thing, but it's not used here in Spokane either. Hasn't been for a few years. Nor is sand. They use a liquid chemical de-icer. Problem is, it doesn't work at real low temps...so they just don't do anything...lol. Nice huh?
Well so much for our nice break. It started snowing early yesterday morning and quite at about 3 pm. By the time it was done, we had another 12". Uggghhh
Warm up them snowblowers there Sid, mine has seen enuf use for both of us this year. Sounds like it is in for more. We got a weather advisory thru New Years.
Ahh nice to know. Leave it up to the government to sabotage us...lol. I do know that the salt wreaks havoc on automobiles...but it sometimes still necessary, IMO. I think this new chemical de-icer is just too new to know what it does...environmentally or otherwise. I know it leaves stained "stripes" on the pavement that you can see A LONG time after it's applied. What really gets me is that they won't use it when it's real cold...say 5 degrees or colder, because it doesn't work. Ummm...shouldn't de-icer work in colder temps? If not...USE SOMETHING THAT DOES....LOL.
Charlie, how's it going over there? Snowblower??? Oh I have one of those....I huff and puff as I'm shoveling!! Is that what ya mean?? LOL Heck I can jump on Craigslist and buy a 5 year old snowblower for $900.00 right now!!! Nothing like a lil' snow to bring out the greed in people huh?
