The baffle in my sump broke (it was 2 pieces of acrylic glued together, don't ask why :( )

Is there any safe way to glue acrylic under water, i.e. no chemical leakage?

If not then I'd need to take the sumpout to replace the baffle.
How long can the main tank last without skimmer? I can put a powerhead in the main tank to temporary circulation.

Thanks.

Depending on how loaded and how clean it is. days to weeks to months. I would remove the sump to repair it. I think you already had decided on that anyway. One thing to consider is that a skimmer adds huge amounts of oxygen to your tank. You may want to consider a airpump and a ceramic micro bubbler airstone. You could even get crazy and get a piece of pvc and a step up from 1 1/2" to 3" and put the airstone in it and have a cheap and dirty but workable skimmer while yours is out. Plus you would get the benifit of aeration in your tank as well. It should only be out for 2-3 days at the absolute most anyway so you probley dont even need to do that. HTH Steve

Thanks. Since the sump still work at this point I am going to wait. I'd prefer to try to get a new glass tank and make a new sump and just swap it out.

It is certainly good to know in case I cannot find a tank I should have 1-2 days to repair mine.

In reality there are some really nice tanks that have never had a skimmer on them at all. You can actually go longer just shorter is safer if you know what I mean. Steve
