Scratch removal from glass

I'm looking at purchasing a 175g bow front Oceanic tank that has scratches on the inside. Is there anyway to buff out scratches from glass?

I have a porter cable dual action orbital buffer (not rotary), would this help?
What type of compound could be used on the inside. I would complete rinse the tank many times before set up.

Any tank builders out there familiar with glass scratch repair?
