There is going to be a skin on this as well but I am trying to figure out sound proofing....anyone got ideas?

Got stand sprayed and moved into house.....started to seal bottom board to ensure no water leaks onto carpet should there be a leak or other issue it will all remain contained in stand. Still no skin yet but we are ready for integrity check and then add sand. Well....of course there is still the plumbing as well.

Wow...what a relief. Thank god for persistence. It took email conversations between myself and one of the shark experts at SeaWorld to get this little dude eating. If it wasn't for my cousin I wouldn't have even known were to start with them. It's funny though....she could care less about the tank...has zero interest, but if it wasn't for her this little dude might not be here today.

BCT182, I want to publicly thank you for your assistance...as well as everyone else who has chimmed in. More progress pic's to come.

Question....is a 5 inch sand bed too much?

Glad to hear you got him eating! as for the sand bed, unless you have something to sift it (that the shart wont eat) then 5inch I would personally think to be way too much. 2in at most.

Question now is what can sift and not get eaten? Do sharks\rays go after starfish?

Still no water so I can take sand out if it is too much.

Well honestly I dont know of anything that I wouldn't be concerned about the sharks going after. FWIW the rainforest cafe IIRC has only about a 2" sand bed with their adult bamboo's and done have any issues.

lol....that sounds like a pretty fair assessment....including your own hands. I am thinking I am going to remove 2 inches to have a 3 inch sand bed. Maybe I will add my current sand to sump for RDSB or something.
