Skimmer question

That's all? No sweat. ;) I guess I better order my ATO, huh?

So, since I don't have alot of skimmer experience, how high should I let the bubbles rise to get the best outcome? And by the way, thanks for your help!
 
Once you get your ato i'd run the water level at the bottom of the skimmer neck, then adjust from there. It will most likely be pretty dry skimmate, so just raise up the water level in the skimmer until your getting a good color of skimmate you like. And keep the skimmer in 8-10" of water in your sump. Once you have the ato set up it won't be finicky anymore. It will be set and forget.
 
a pic of your sump would also help to help you out!
what you could do is install one baffle in your sump where the water comes in (where the skimmer is) to separate were the return pump is. so the only water level that changes is the area in your sump is where the return pump is. this will hold the water level constant where the skimmer sits.
