Something is eating my torch in several spots. It has to be that emerald crab that I haven't seen in over 6 months. I thought it was dead. It has to be him because I haven't gotten anything new in over a year that could have brought in a hitchhiker. To top it off, 3 days ago I added a piece of dead bleached coral that I had in my old 55 gal. from 2 years ago. I boiled it for 2 full hours. I needed to add a place to put a frag due to growth. Well it's a nice piece with a nice smooth front, until I noticed that something last night chewed a hole the exact shape and size as the one in my torch. I'm posting bleached coral in my next post. How do I catch this beast. Will a glass with a piece of shrimp in it work??

It doesnt look like any crab damage I have ever seen

??

dont know. good luck. I guess on the bright side whatever it is it isnt hurting anything......... yet.

Looks like the damage an urchin would do - at least when I had naughty urchins thats what it looked like... Do you have any?

"delemi" I've never bought one. And I haven't added live rock in 2 years. So if I do have one It's news to me. But on another site, everyone said. So maybey I do. How do I set a trap for an urchin?

I don't think you can trap them, besides just using your torch as bait and waiting it out, watching with a flashlight.. They have sticky feet and can go anywhere, like a starfish. It seems hard to believe that you have one and haven't seen it though, mine are always out when the lights are on.

The only other thing I could think of is if you have a puffer or some fish with a beak... but I don't think you have any of those either.. Maybe someone else will have an idea of what it could be, or an idea for a great trap!
