So, i hand a shallow bed of sugar sand and am wondering if anybody has tried adding larger grain sand to the existing bed to reduce the amount of sand blowing around.
Question is, will the small grain sand just simply drift to the top, or will it mix with the larger grain sand and help with the sand blowing problem.

I have done it for years and works well, the course sand will end up at the surface unless it is disturbed by you or livestock.

Cheers, Todd

I agree, Larger particles naturaly move to the top as the smaller settle in the cracks towards the bottom.
In my very DSB the larger peices are all on top and it is finer as it goes down.
