tweaking a cpr bak pak skimmer

my friend finally put it in her tank and is now having some troubles with it,
i'm not there all the time so i can't tweak it and play with it every day
here's the problems
the skimmer cup fills up way to quick, it's rather clear 'skimate' if you can call it that
the bubbles go past the upside down funnel into the collection cup and such
it's kinda loud, she has to turn it off when she sleeps, has a rio pump
she doesn't have the skimmer box and there's quite a bit of micro bubbles, but she doesn't mind these too much

You can use the oring on the cup to adjust the skimmmate. bubbles and noise are normal for my cpr

A mj1200 and the venturi kit will make it skim real nice for a little skimmer.

does it make it any quieter, if i can't make it much quieter, if i can't make it silent she wants to change skimmers, which is reasonable i suppose

Makes finer bubbles. You can take off tha goofy muffler if its there and run the hose down under the stand.

If you want more skimmate along with MJ1200 and the venturi kit, get an airline tubing, a limestone from coralife, check valve, and a pump. Just connect it all together.
