Thanks scooty I think I might elevate the CL pump to save head loss
I wonder what the clear tube is for and the one further away going back to the sump???with the ball valve?

so hows this for prelim for CL
Might add two more outlets closer to the pump

Looks good! Imagine that with Loc-lines coming out the BH's & splitting them off with "Y" connectors to double your flow outlets, so you'd actually have 8 outlets from the 4 BH's

thanks scotty that actually helps ALOT!
I might locate my pump in the middle of the tank and plit it the way you did!
instead of long runs down both sides!

I'm gonna go back and draw with the pump in the middle of the tank!
You guys are alot of help!
Thanks!!!
Still wonder what those two lines back to the sump are for???

Originally that was for a supply on a reactor but for a time I used it to recirculate some flow because I had too much pump there even when I restricted the outlet. Eventually I used an Eheim 1262 for the return & also the chiller supply but now the tank owner has a Panworld on it & loves it! I think he has the one that pushes about 1200gph through the sump, chiller supply, phos. reactor etc.

That big pump was my sump return, way overkill, LOL! 35ft head LOL!

here is my thread build, lots of good information to look at!

cool now i got hat figured out!
I can let JASON know and get the holes in the tank!
Now for the design of the sump?

Yeah get a couple of vortech mp40 and u should be good. With the closed loop app. you will end up spending just as much as u would for 2 vortechs after you get all the PVC, loc lines, true union valves, and all the other mess that goes along with it. Also too they would be less maintenance and are not that invasive looking in your tank either. Plus you can always move them around.

I was looking at the vortec's they need to be opposite end of the tanks??
I really cant have anything on three sides of the tank being pinninsula?

so your telling me the clossed loop will cost me about 800 dollers??
two vortechs with controller would run about that?

so i just found a package deal for 1000$ for two mp40's wireless controller and a battery back up?
I should just get this and be done with it??
