Just thought I would share some pics.
Our daughter graduated as a Dr. of Psychology, as her gift for graduation I offered her to build her a piece of furniture of her choice. After a full set of drawings wad approved I built this desk. There just under 450 pieces.

LOL That may be true. But atleast I Knew I would finish the job. I'm not sure he does at this point.

Thanks Dave, AS you can see she has a thing for dragonflies. I made enough for all the posts top and bottom. I didnt like them on the bottom, so she has extras. They are all different. I made 30 total so I could choose the best to go one the desk.

Wow that is amazingly well put together. Reminds me of my Grandfather woodworking....are all you guys a PITA to try and build anything with though?

"It's 1/64 inch off.....we have to recut EVERYTHING!"

Peppie,
Looks great. Have you seen NW fine woodworking. There is a lady that does some incredible dragon fly pieces. Jury prep time is here, so she should get some real nice stuff up there about Sept. Ive got 6 pieces planned to go up. You should take a look.

Akunochi, There is a fine line as to what will work and what will not. I can be abit of APITA when it comes to that fine line.

Don, I have been aware of the Woodworking Gallery in Seattle for years. I want to be sure my pieces are not rejected. My wife says I am foolish not to take some of my boxes up to get juried. I do this as a hobby and sometimes it is hard to let something go that you have put so much of yourself into.
I take pride in knowing if I build something I know it will not be in a garage sale.

I didnt mean display I just meant to check out the dragon fly lady as I call her. Now if you want to take a shot, id be happy to take a look. You have to have some pretty thick skin. My first 30 + pieces were rejected until I figured out what they a looking for. Trust me nothing could possibly ever end up in a garage sale. Dont post any pics on the web if you want to try it.

Wow peppie, that desk is gorgeous!
About 14 years ago, my husband and I stopped downtown Seattle at an antique furniture store and for free, picked up a truck load of scrap antique wood from table tops, desk tops, drawer fronts, a lot of burl wood, quarter sawn oak and zebra woods and a lot of cherry. My husband built clock housings with it. Nothing as intricate as that desk.

Thank you, IPisces, I am a wood hound. I have some wood that has been sitting around for over 5 years, just waiting for the right project.

Don, I know they can be real picky. I knew a wood turner a while back that went thur the jury. Brutal. Thanks for the offer to look things over. I know less than perfect will not make it. I also know it must be one of a kind. We will have to get together some time and swap some lies, or ideas.
