Ed, yes, I had bad bulbs and that was why I started this thread to begin with. I got my 2 new replacements and only 1 stayed the right color. I then went through 3 bulbs only on the right side of my 120g. One stayed the correct color for about 30min., then I got the next replacement and it stayed white for 3 days then went yellow, the I got the next replacement and it stayed white for about an hour. I took the blub that stayed white the longest and put it on my single pfo ballast on my 180g tank and within the day it turned back to white.

I then put it back on my 120g on the right side and it has stayed white ever since. I put another of the yellow ones back on the 180g and it is still yellow.

Well got my replacement and it looks good lets see for how long

that's great you received your replacement. i'm still waiting. i sent jason an email last week asking him if he received my bulbs. 2 days later i received a response stating he did and that it would be this week before his techs would be able to test my bulbs.

your color definitely looks improved. hopefully the new bulbs will retain the color.

Well I tried the 250 watt 20K from xm. I got them on a hqi ballast and they seem to be looking good.

here is the response i received from jason today. they were yellow i say

Both lamps are operating as designed. Once the lamp reached stable operating conditions; there is a slight variation between the lamps when tested due to ballast tolerances and lamp aging tolerances.

he said he was going to have one of their distributors send me 2 new bulbs to see if that would resolve the issue. i just can't believe that their allowed slight variations are from white/blue to yellow.
