    Just started the cycle

Adding the small amounts of sand will increase your bacteria populations.

    Just started the cycle

If you have sand in your up and running tank, I would add half a cup of sand twice a week to the cycling tank. This should help speed up the cycle.

    Thinking about upgrading =) opinions?

I agree w/Bill. If space and lighting are the issue, i would consider going bigger. Otherwise, you will be like me and have every size tank from 14 to 90. After having my 90 up just over a year, I need more space.

    New Tank. Need Equipment Advice.

+1 for the SWC 160. Also have it on a 90. SWC does have a 150 BMK that would also work on a 75.

    RO/DI filter questions

You can get by with a hand held tds meter. The dual meters are good for determining when your membrane and filters need to be changed vs. when your di need to be changed. Althought a lot of di resin changes color, I do not find it is always a perfect indicator that your are still getting 0 tdi...

    45G FOWLR Stocking

Damsels can get very aggressive. I would not do dominos or 3/4 stripe damsels. I've had good luck with chromis.

    flame angel problems

Could have been acclimation. Some fish only systems use lower salinity when compared to reef tanks.

    Mojo Anemone Help

Copperbands should be more coral freindly than Racoon Butterflyfish. If you do use kalk paste, you could add a few peppermint shrimp. They may keep the new aiptasia in check.

Buying Live Rocks with of hair algae. How to get rid of them?

I've lucked out with a recent group of hermit crabs. In the past, hermit crab really haven't eaten much hair algae. However, this group does a really good job. I've got a secondary tank with a hair algae problem and have been putting pieces of rock in my main tank. Within 2 days, all the hair...

Where do most folks get their water?

I use an RO/DI unit with the drinking water tank. Therefore, I have fairly quick access to 5 gallons of RO/DI water for the tanks and also have drinking water and nice ice cubes. If you buy a used unit, if the filters and membrane have to be replaced, they can cost almost as much as a new unit.

    Gary's Oceanic Illuminata 57 build

The Quiet One 5000 does seem like possibly too much for your tank. I run a 3000 on my 90. However, I could probably go higher for my return.

    Recommended skimmers?

I believe you are reffering to the SWC BMK 150. I just upgraded to a 90 gallon SPS tank. I went with the SWC 160 Cone. There have been a few complaints about start up issues with this skimmer. However, I have not run into this. So far I am very happy with the skimmer.

    Upgrading lights again! Need suggestions

Several of the local reefers here made the switch to leds and have already or are in the process to switching back to MH. They say they were much happier with the overall results with the MHs. I have leds on 2 nanos and have mixed results with SPS. I have a couple change colors. Some grow like...

Any reccomendations for a 90 Gal inside tank powerhead?

The Koralia 3 & 4 are ok. However, it you ever decide to use them with a controller, you would be better off with the Koralia Evolution powerheads.
