ITS ERIC BORNEMAN!!!!!!!! woot! bout time you joined up dood. I noticed that Jerel/Bomber/Spanky has a long-spined urchin in his 450. Do they do any damage to corals other than the occasional FORCED SUICIDE from the top of a rock?
hehe thanks BRAD! I think the streams are really going to be the best way to go.. but since I havent purchased them yet that is one of the last few things I am HMMING and HAWING over on a hourly basis. The beckett skimmer is out so I wont have to worry about a water pump in that respect. I...
man I hate to sound like a puss but I need some encouraging.....the money just doesnt seem to stop flowing out and all I am doing is acruing more cardboard and reef equipment.... my biggest fear is the first month this thing is up and running it is going to cost $300 in power alone!
thanks for the tip. I plan on setting up my rockwork so that I can put it together like an erector set and take it apart just as easily. What I am thinking about doing now is running a "fixed flow" stream in the rockwork like Brad suggested and then the two 6100's on each end. Combined with...
hehe any thoughts on a spray bar? I have two eductors running on a PCX100 out of two outlets but I dont want to run anything up and over the top of the back of the tank so that is limiting any sort of spray bar plumbing for me. I just cant think of a clean way to do it and make it look right...
still not sure yet :D "cheap safe and easy" way is to bite the bullet and buy two 6100 streams. The more difficult but higher flow option is to drill the tank for a CLS. RF user "Finn" is local to me here in Oly and he is supposed to have a tank drilled by a local company so I am going to...
I am running the MJ and the airstone and I have no bubbles coming back to the display. Just for giggles I messed with cutting the air to the MJ and just let the stone do the work but this created a TON of microbubbles in the display so I turned the air back up and VOILA! micro bubbles gone!
this one actually came with an MJ1200 already on it. On my 72 I had to replace the RIO with a MJ1200 that I got for FREE from Petsmart out of a dead SeaClone package ;) WOOHOO hehe
So, I was sooooooooooooo inspired by Mike's skimmer that I decided to hot-rod my little cpr bakpak on the 30gal tank. :D so it goes from this,
to this,
here's my little helper,
oh he's good,
so now tomorrow I am going to dremel out a little slot in the bottom of the cup so that...
page 278 are the stones you guys need.... .30cfm each unless you are building a monster like Mike's.... :D and Mike's stones have been working for about a month and when I saw them a week ago they looked brand new....for whatever that is worth ;)
