    Black spot

I think black spot disease is more common in tangs. It sounds like they are hosting a coral or a really strong anenome and just having a melanin (sp?) response that is very common in clown fish.

    Fowl

I am going to be getting rid of all my corals and swtching to FOWL. I currently have a 75 gallon AGA with a 29 gallon sump and a remora pro skimmer. I have 100+ lbs of LR (not really sure on exact amount). As a college student i feel a fish only will be a little easier to take care of. I am...

I have heard the best things about BANKS. In fact, i know they make a total "power package" for the cummins but not sure about the power stroke.

    Need Smart Person Help

I second the XP power toys. Just go to the microsoft web site and search for it, it is free. It has to be the easiest way to resize pictures, just right click and choose resize.

    Lighting for best SPS growth

I think 10K is the best combination of growth and color. Also, i have had much better growth with my AB 20K than my 15K coralvue so i dont think lower kelvin always means better growth- lighting confuses me - If i could do it over again i would go 10K with VHO actinic.

    Too fine of sand?

I think the best way to clear the tank is to use a power filter. Other reefers probably have one lying around, i used an aquaclear 200 and it cleared upin less than A day.

    Remora Pro

I have a remora pro that i am using in sump. I think it is a great skimmer. I would not get the drain fitting because the cup needs to be cleaned often to keep the skimmer working at its best, the gunk that builds up in the inside if the neck really slows the foam down. I always clean the...

    Cleaner Shrimp Babies!!

I would think that after six months a cleaner shrimp would be a substantial size are you sure your not mistaking them for mysis. Can you see the color on them or are they more white/clear?

    A few recent shots

Hey Kevin, your corals look great. I cant believe how fast they grow, you cant even tell your constantly fragging all of them.

    Do you name your fish?

I have had the same experience as mike. Every time i or someone else names a fish it dies. There is strict no fish name rule in my house!!!!!!!!!!!

    closed loop help

After you subtract the head loss and the loss created from the SCWD i dont think it will be to much flow but im sure it will take some adjusting so it wont be too disruptive for the softies and sand bed.

VHO or PC Which is Better

I agree with lizardarm. Ive been told that VHO produce less heat than PC, i dont know if it makes a difference when compared to MH, but its something to consider.

    Need some input on lightings

I would go with the MH's. Later on when/if you feel like keeping more challenging animals like SPS, clams, and anemones you will be glad you went that route. If your sure you never want to keep those animals than i would go with the 4 VHO. Also i personally think that 10k MH with actinic VHO...

    Let's See Those Clams!

My lawnmower has never nipped at anything. At worst he will lay inside the mantle of my clams, this doesnt seem to bother the clams one bit, he will also get in my LTA with my clowns and the clowns dont seem bothered either. I guess I just got lucky with mine. I hear so many bad stories...
