    Cleaning used Aquarium

    I have a used acrylic aquarium that I thought I would fill up with diluted Muriatic acid in water to get out the calcium deposits. Would this damage the aquarium?

    Sand has turned to cement!

    I had the same problem. My alk and calcium levels were not stable at the time and the sand turned to rock and the pumps bound up with calcium deposits. After I got the alk and calcium to stabilize the problem went away. Just my experience, for what its worth.

    I have 3 large rbta. 2 show no sign of bubble tips, one does and it is a offspring of one of the others. The one that shows bubble tips is up next to a frogspawn. I think they show the bubbles in response to irritation.

    Need an opinion on my setup...

    I don't think the fish are too much, and the lights should be fine. You might want to put the lights closer, say 6 to 8 in. You should get a skimmer.

    I use the PM and it works great. I have the MJ on a timer and it only runs for a few minutes a day so wearing out really is'nt an issue. What whears out eventually is the impeller and you can buy them very cheaply.

    My Chromis were diffinately aggressive when in a small school and the less dominate ones showed scale loss. Your water parameters are off though, nitrite should be undetectable and nitrate should be close to undetectable, I would also raise your salinity to nsw levels.
