    ATO's are great for a multitude of reasons, but FWIW, the best way to keep the water level perfectly the same in your skimmer chamber so your skimmers performance never varies even a little bit due to evaporation, is to simply mkae the first "over" baffle in your sump next to the skimmer chamber...

    Another neat thing about taking a blow torch to your rock is parts of it turn this really sweet bright orange color for a few days :D

    You dont want to boil the rock. that kills everything, all life, bacteria.....everything. Torching it just kills the spots you burn.

    Best way to connect live rock

    I prefer a masonry drill bit and 1/2" or even 3/4" acrylic rods. Ive done it a bucnh of different ways and prefer the acrylic rod. Coat hangers flex too much. If you plan on stacking stuff above it i like to have it not move at all. As well the thicker stuff just grips the two pices together...

    Its no doubt my LMB. He prefers mysis over anything, and if its been more than a few day since ive given him any, he waits until i am looking and tries to knock over any little frags that arent secure, then glares at me.
