    best 10k 400w

Why the 10K if your wanting to wash out the yellow/white colors? why not a 12/14/15K so as to get the whiter spectrum than a 20K but still has more of the blue that your looking for?

    Please ID these!

perhaps if you get the rock under normal lighting or use the flash we could see better what it is (coral killer) the supplemental picture on the top of your tank is still too blue washed to see what your seeing

anyway to fix a crack in the glass?

as long as the crack is not under a lot of stress/in a structural place, you can silicone a piece of acrylic over the crack to stabilize and help prevent further cracking. Otherwise its best to either scrap or replace the panel

    Frag Tank and common sump

The only thing that could possibly go wrong is if your dipping/QTing of stuff becomes lax. I'm guilty of this too but have been lucky so far, but if you introduce ich or AEFW or some other pest/disease into your frag tank/display you don't have the frag/display tank as a refuge from it. It may...

    Power Outage

Just to let you guys know, our bigger tanks take a lot longer to cool off when the power is cut, my tank without power for 12ish hrs (they were doing power line maint to the neighborhood) only dropped to 77 from 79 (usually 80-82 with the lights on) the slow gradual drop in tank temp won't harm...

    Pacific Sun LED Pricing/Ordering Instructions

I'm not part of the groupbuy, although if i had the money i would have jumped on it..., but I'm glad to see BRA, Rafal and Cy are all working hard to provide the best possible solution for us reefers and our demands. Even with unforseen circumstances they are trying their hardest and I certainly...

red hair algae in my refugium

one way to get the stuff out is to take your whole ball of cheato and dip it in a bucket of old tank water (while doing a wc) and swirl/shake it in the bucket to remove as much as you can, empty the bucket and fill it again with more old tank water and do another shaking, return to refugium as...

    Do Amphipods Bother Zoa's?

not all amphipods are bad. Amphipods refers to a whole phylum(been a long time since marine bio class) that includes 1000's of species. Just like there's good and bad snails, there's good and bad amphipods. Some like Natalie's (hope I spelled that right) will bother and even consume zoas/palys...

    RBTA and False Percula's

    Berghia Nudi questions

I've heard bad stories of a file fish ignoring the aptasia until all zoas and palys in the tank are obilterated, then finally working on the aptasia he only managed to save 1 or 2 colonies of his zoas before the fish had eaten his way through his tank...

    Help ID please

they appear to be dove conch eggs, great hitchhikers and algae eaters! I have tons as they have been reproducing in my nano for 4 months, never hurt a thing and reproduce like crazy!

    Chaeto

if we knew where you were located it'd be easier to suggest people, most of us have cheato growing in our tanks/sumps/fuges and have to clip it back quite frequently so if you hit people at the right time its almost always available. I've got plenty to give away if your anywhere near...

    New Halides!

usually the 12K+ bulbs burn in bluer rather than yellower, they tend to be a little on the yellow side for the first 10-50hrs then the color burns into the blue great bulb choice hope you like them

    May Meeting FRAGS!!!!! :)

yeah us north enders do have a hard time, i'll have to skip out early (assuming a bunch of people show up) to get corals home then off to work, maybe I can teach my mom how to dip/acclimate properly and hand off the frags...
