    Zoo relocation

Don, I remember reading something, you may want to give it a try or maybe I was just dreaming when I thought of this. But from what I recall, take a piece of ice and put it in a ziploc bag and if at all possible touch it to their base and they may loosen their "grip" and you should be able to...

    Seio Sizes

I'm trying to get an idea on the size of the seio's without the cover on them. Particularly the 1500's and the 2600's. I've seen dimensions all over but thats the overall dimension with the plastic cover on, and I plan on not using them that way. Or if somebody has either of those in a 6'...

Anyone loan a Fish Trap or scrap acrylic?

I've got a stack of 12"x12" pieces of 1/4" acrylic. I work in Redmond, not sure if thats close enough to make it worth your while or not.

    aragonite sand

I would suggest using the for sale forums for this, and as far as the sand from HD, this product has been discontinued and was previously called Southdown Aragonite PlaySand. Some people still have pallets of this stuff lying around so post in the sale forums and ya might get a response from...

Need somebody to fix my MJMods

BTW, I will keep you updated as to whether this keeps working or not. So far it's going on 5 hours and has spinning the right direction.

Need somebody to fix my MJMods

Well I figured it out. I read that if it happens where it bounces back and forth and won't run in the right direction all the time even with a stopper is to sand down the prop a bit. I did this before hand but must have not sanded it down enough. I went back out and sanded a little more and...

    Question about Ghost shrimp

My bad. My only guess is do you acclimate them or just throw them in? As far as other things I'm not quite sure. Other than if the parameters are in check and the temp doesnt get too awfully cold.

    Question about Ghost shrimp

If I remember correctly, ghost shrimp can not survive in a saltwater tank as they are not marine shrimp. They have to be kept in a fresh tank and fed by hand. If you're trying to keep these for food for your fish I would go with these...

Reef Mystique- Now open Lake Stevens

Oh and if you havent been there recently, he has a 14+ inch Maxima(I believe) clam in his 400g walkaround that is worth the trip. For those that were at the last aquarium meet, just think of the huge one they had there, just a bit smaller(Wil's that is)!!

Reef Mystique- Now open Lake Stevens

I was there to pickup some RO water just before he closed up early and just so everybody knows he was off to the airport to pick up a large LR and SPS order  Although they wont be at the store until he gets his sps tank up and running, keep this in mind. I'm sure that they are some primo...

    Clean Up Crew

Agreed with mmkeeper. Towards the end of the cycle I would say a week or so before adding any other livestock, start adding some critters. If you're going with a sand bed go with some Nassarius snails(among other critters) as they are great for stirring up the sandbed and keeping it aerated.

Your opinion on flow for my 125G

No they aren't new and just running them normal. But, I guess I gave up on the sanding about 10 seconds to soon. I took them back out to the belt sander and sanded each for about another 10 seconds and they are running fine so far. Lets hope they stay that way. I will more than likely get...

Your opinion on flow for my 125G

I bought the complete hi flow kits from MJMods.com, with the large shrouds, as I just dont have the time for another DIY project. I know the mods are a diy, but it would be a longer project if I would have had to do the whole mod. I have tried trimming the prop, maybe I will do it a little bit...

Your opinion on flow for my 125G

Wow, didnt get a single email telling me I had responses, heh. DonW: Yeah I figured, I will probably just go full-time with them and like ronJ said, I should be able to tone them down a little if needed. ronJ: Thanks for that info. I will probably go with the 2600's as thats what I have...

Your opinion on flow for my 125G

I'm liking the higher flow of the seio's, plus I'm not looking to drop a ton of money on the tunze's. I don't mind there being powerheads in the tank either, just dont want more than 2 or so. Opinion will probably change in a year or so though.

Your opinion on flow for my 125G

Well I was planning on using 2 modded MJ1200's but after many attempts to get these working correctly, I think I am throwing in the towel. The plan for those were to put one on each end of my tank pointed towards each other on a swirl-stein mod to create random flow hopefully throughout the...

Need somebody to fix my MJMods

I guess I will be going with a couple Seio's and toss these MJ's out.

Need somebody to fix my MJMods

So I believe that I have tried everything to get my 2 mjmods working. Different stopper locations, different impeller lengths, but I still can't get them to work flawlessly. One of the will run in the right direction most of the time, but every 30 seconds(average) or so it comes back and hits...
