    Phosban question

Hi guys, I took your advise and got the phosban for my "little fishes 150" phoshate reactor and not sure how to use it. It is VERY fine and so I put some in the mesh bag it came with but it pushes that center pipe to the side so I can only put so much in. I was hella worried about it getting...

    Phosban reactor 150 question

Hi, Just ordered the phosban. I'll wait on Rowphas and see if this does the trick. Thanks, Alison

    Red Cyano?? (Asparagopsis)

Emerald crabs I think? I bought everything under the sun people perscribed to eat that crap but nothing seemed to like it. Basically I found getting your stats under control and scrubbing away was the best trick, but that's just what worked for me years ago... Good luck, Ali:)

    Red Cyano?? (Asparagopsis)

Hi Rocket, Ya steve has some good advice. He helped me out with my Phosphate reactor questions on what to replace the media with. I don't know if I should go with Warner Marine's phosar, Rowphos or Phosban now though. Rowphos sounds pricey. Good luck. Ali

    ick question

Well I am no expert, but that 3 day transfer solution wouldn't just kill any fish as once you transfered it back to the 3rd and final destination in a sterilized tank. Wouldn' you probably kill the fish as it is not cycled water unless I am not understanding correctly? I think just a QT and...

    Phosban reactor 150 question

Hey Olsaltybastard- Why did you switch from Rawpa? Was it due to it not working or what? I am tossed between Phospan and that? Thanks, Ali

Great! Keep in touch and let me know how much better it does. Thanks, Ali

    Red Cyano?? (Asparagopsis)

Ya I totally agree with Burning2nd that it's not the right classification on the red stuff, but it is an algae, and I've had it whatever it's called and it's a pain I know. The phosphate sponge by Kent worked great but you can only really use it once. Don't try to use it again, as it doesn't...

    sump lid?

Thanks for all your replies! I guess I won't cover it then. I don't have a heat issue in my tank. My halides don't heat it up much. Only about 1 degree, but you're all right about the gas exchange, I hadn't thought about that or the temp increase with the lid on. I'm buying an RO machine...

    Anemone suggestions needed

Hi, I have a RBTA too. I also have a green one about a foot away from it and they seem to do just fine. My RBTA moved into the very high flow point of the tank and loves it. I have a SERIOUS current in my tank too. I noticed the anemones like it rippin and so does my blue tang. I...

what is coroline algae? and is it good?

Coraline is the most amazing part of having a reef. I just wish it stayed to the rock. lol. -Alison

    ick question

Ya Steve-S is totally right. Just to add something too, a friend of mine had an ick free system for over 4 years and no introductions and she quarantined all corals too, then about 2 months ago she added a xenia from a local LFS right into the main display, and it killed her clown. Crazy to...

    Red Cyano?? (Asparagopsis)

Hi Rocket, I wouldn't bother with the snails. You have some phosphate/silicate water issues that need resolving or you'll just be putting a bandaid on a amputation so to speak. You have another problem I noticed in the picture as well. Bubble algae. That can totally take over a tank. I...

    ich problem......

Hi, I would make sure it is ick and if it is then, I totally agree with Steve-S that Cupramine is much better. The stuff you got is pretty scary stuff and not meant for Angels. Angels are pretty delicate and are best in tanks established over 1 year in my opinion. As far as hyposalinity it...

    Mystery Organism ID help.

I have lots of those too. They kinda look like maybe a sponge with some sort of small worm (not bad worm) living in a hole. Having a reef is like having a living mystery in your living room. I often have new things apearing, and that is what is the coolest part in my opinion.

    sump lid?

What do people do for sump lids? I have a large sump with liverock alone and a large ETSS skimmer on one side so I need like 1/4 open for that. I want to save money and time on water evaporation. Thanks, Alison

    Phosban reactor 150 question

Hi, I have a Phosban reactor 150 that came with my tank 3 months ago and the media is very old so what media do I use to replace the old media with? Also I want the fastest results on the hairline that is starting to get out of control. Then after the hairline is under control what should I...

    Reverse Osmosis question?

Great thanks! I'll start my search and let ya know what I end up with. The washing machine hookup sounds like a good idea for spillage and whatnot. Does anyone have a drawing of how to do that? Then I can have my husband do it for me. Thanks, Alison
