    Which Anemone for False Percs?

I got an as yet unidentified anemone a month or so ago. It was sold to me as a long tentacle anemone. I'll try and post up some pics for ID. Anyway my false percula clowns are showing zero interest in them. Now I'm thinking of trying another type but want to make sure I pick one with a good...

What are you doing with your rebate check?

I was just thinking about that tax rebate check comin. I'm leaning towards a octopus msx160 extreme skimmer and a tunze osmolater ATO system:lol: Sure hope those skimmers are back in stock by then. How about y'all?

    Can somone ID these?

Both of theese came on/with some liverock I recently bought. The sps frag went in the main tank because it was already pretty beat up looking and I didn't think it would survive the crappy lighting on the QT it's pretty brown and I don't think its seen good light in a while. The other looks...

    Canopy Question

T5s will probably do the trick but IMO sofar nothing beats the look of mh. The shimmer you get is worth having to deal with heat and power consumption.

New LR is a little too "alive"

New LR is a little too "alive"

the xenia i was fine with. but now you're telling me that gsp is a nuisance also? but i like gsp. it's cool, looks like grass. I want to have a bunch of sps eventually. there's got to be some way to control the gsp

New LR is a little too "alive"

hmm, i wonder if the two peppermints will get along with my coral banded, fire, and cleaner shrimp that are already in the dt. I guess I'll find out. Also I didn't realize that pulsing xenia was such a nuisance. If that's the case I guess that won't be going in the dt

    Really Bad Ick!!!!

you can buy a 20 long glass tank for abou 35 bucks. That's what I did. You don't want too big (expense, hassle to do PWC, hard to catch fish)

New LR is a little too "alive"

So Picked up about 20 lbs of liverock yesterday from a fellow reefer who was tearing down his tank. Good price, nice corraline growth. Unfortunately It was already in buckets when I got there so i couldn't see it in the water. I got home and made the very smart choice of resisting the urge to...

    Question

Considering the time of year we are in I would guess that it will take you until mid summer to get all the sand, rock, equipment, cycling and what not else done and you won't be adding anything really sensitive until at least then. Therefore if I were you i would just wait and see what happens...

    Question

What skimmer is best for me?

:lol:Bwahahahaha!:lol: Guess I need to go find three hundred bucks. Hey Mark, can you mod that one for me too?
  17. mattleycrue76

What skimmer is best for me?

hmm, what kind of boost do you think i'd get going from my (skimmerwhiperer modded) octopus 110 to a 160 extreme on a 72 gal bowfont? will I be glad to have spent the cash? You've got me kinda interested.
  18. mattleycrue76

Might as well be new at it.

I've been researching AT systems lately and DonW's system and the tunze osmolater seem like the best units on the market because they use both mechanichal and optical switches for redundancy.

    65g Tank.

Oh yeah and welcome to reef frontiers

    65g Tank.

72g 2x250 mh, octo 110 skimmer, similar sump, 75lbs live rock, 3" live sand bed. The difference between base rock and live rock is that the live rock has had time to develop a bacteria colony that will break down ammonia into nitrites, then nitrates. If you let your rock and sand cycle...
